"It looks like... Kubota is dead. Since only the key to Room C was taken, and Youmu confirmed only Kubota had taken a key, Kubota must be the victim."

"The victim's body is completely burnt. They were lying on the balcony of Room C when we found them. It's impossible to tell when they died, but it must have been after Kubota locked himself in the room. The door was locked both by key and by a chain lock. I think it's safe to say that this was just an unfortunate accident..."

"Did you say the door was locked? Is this a locked room murder mystery now?"

[yaes]

"Accident? You think this is an accident!? How does someone die and get completely burnt this quickly?"

*Emil mutters to himself*

"But is it Kubota... this isn't how it goes..."

[King V]

"AHAHAHAHAHAHA! It looks like Kubota has met a Terrible Fate! Serves him right!"


"......... Is this perhaps what you meant by the curse, president Shion? However, I don't think this was just an accident. It must be a murder."


"Eh? How can you say it's a murder, Youmu? The door to Room C was locked both by key and by chain, there was no way to get in or out of the room."

"I agree with you Shion. You all heard the storm rolling in along with the thunder. It is most likely just a freak case of lightning striking him. Makes me glad I wandered in here before the storm hit. It could have been anybody outside during a storm like this."

"Wait did you say accident? I am with crazy Emil. Not to be confused with innocent Emil. This does not seem like an accident. Trust me I am a professional."

"Okay how do you people know he died? And are we sure someone couldn't have torched it from the balcony?"

"I am certain it was Kubota who died. I saw him take the key to Room C and enter the room. Nobody else entered the room after he did."


"It would've been quite a long climb to get up to the balcony, masked man. I've checked the balcony height and all of the balconies are over 10 meters off of the ground. I don't think anyone could climb that height with all of this rain pouring."

"Quick! When did it start raining?"

"I may not be sure how this happened, but I believe in the possibility of magic!"
*Reiten withdraws as he considers his statement. He allows a couple of seconds to pass until he gives a half-hearted shrug of his shoulders*
"From what I can remember before Miss. Student Council President found Kutoba's body was that I was in the Guest Rooms Main Hall along with some of the other students. Emil, or err- the one with red eyes, was trying to break down the door to Room C and Shion managed to restrain him.
I-I'm sorry. I didn't really understand what was happening at that point, but everyone else was just watching it, so I thought that everything would resolve itself.
I then asked the other Emil, the one with green eyes, if that happens often, but he wasn't too sure himself."
*The young teen hesitates as words struggle to link together at the tip of his tongue. He struggles for another moment as he taps slightly to the side of his head in thought. Upon arriving at a question, Reiten's left hand curled into a fist and landed into his open right palm*
"That's right! Kubota was found on the balcony, yet he seemed like a really cautious person! Why then, would someone who would go through the effort of chaining his door and show clear signs of panic go onto the balcony in the middle of a thunderstorm?"

"By your own admittance, Red eyed Emil was banging on the door and if I was a skittish individual, I do believe that would make me want to be as far away from that door as possible. I believe Kubota fled to the balcony in fear of whoever or whatever he thought was trying to get into the room. Perhaps the fall frightened him less?"

"Okay people show's over. Shion was right. Based on scorch marks and lack of anything else being on fire and how badly burnt out victim is. Our victim was hit by lightning and died instantly. The rain most likely made it easier to fry on account of water conducts electricity."

"But why would lightning strike him? The building is more likely to take any hits."
