Looks like I missed quite a bit. Unfortunate that we did not complete the objective. Regardless, I have my theories as to why we're here. Keep in mind that my knowledge is limited by what I've found, so if there are any inconsistencies or mistakes, please point them out to me immediately. [WALLS OF TEXT INCOMING]
Found in the Life Room
It's difficult to pick a place to start, but I suppose I'll go in the order I found things in. First, there was the "Report by the head of the Blood Division _______.” Some key information brought up in this is that Aeturnus has begun to act strangely as of late, Aeturnus sending away all of the higher ranking staff and inviting a group of individuals here. It also brings us the only estimate on Aeturnus' age, as the writer of this report was nearing the age of 80 and then mentions that "...I have lived barely a tenth as long as him...", which means that Aeturnus is approximately 800 years old. After that, however, the writer goes on to mention that he may have been hiding his "death" and passing on the mantle to another. This is something interesting that I will get back to. It also originally must have contained what Aeturnus' true blood weapon was, but it's been obscured with blood. I have my theories as to what it is, however.
Room of Sight
After this, I found a piece of paper pinned down by the Hand of Hours in the Room of Sight. It read "First: Forge Eternity". There were also a number of crumpled up pieces of paper that all had begun with the word "First" as well as droplets of ink indicating that the person writing these was lost in thought in regards as to what they wanted to write. The important thing here is
Eternity Something that quite a few of us may know is that we are all up in a tower, and below us is what appears to be signs of civilisation. I'll get back to this later as well.
The Room of Beginnings
In the Room of Beginnings, there lay a Crimson Red Book amidst all the other clichéd stories within. This book was only understandable in the beginning and the end, as the middle of it was soaked through with blood, and therefore the writing was not readable. What I have found here was that in the introduction, we are introduced to the human race and the fruits of their research. What puzzles me here is the line that is omitted here, "...They built massive machines and terrible contraptions that consumed _________ of the world..." What this could be is so far beyond me, but I speculate that it was energy, life, blood... something. Potentially Blood Energy, more on that later. But whatever they did create, it turned on the humans. "The people began to fear an end to their age of dominance and searched fervently for a ___________ their ever changing creations." The omitted part here may be "solution to", but that is all I can think of at this point in time. Curiously enough, Aeturnus is mentioned next. He is described as a great researcher who had an idea as to what the human race could do. However, interestingly enough, it cuts off here until the ending, as this is where the pages become too soaked with blood to read.
The ending part of the book then states "But alas, his plan failed." right off the bat. I have some speculation as to what this plan was, but more on that later. What is important here is that Aeturnus was "Unable to create something of even greater _________ than __________." The first omitted part must have something to do with energy or power, or potentially even blood. The latter part I am almost certain is Eternity. I will provide more reasoning as to why I think Eternity fits there later. Continuing on, the book then mentions "The man thought of the fate of those he had imprisoned in his tower. It had been a rather far-fetched hope that one of them who be able to _________ his title. The man sits on the top of his tower and chuckles to himself about the irony of his situation. It was then that the man surrendered to the inevitable and closed his eyes. The massive gears of the tower churned to life and the tower chimed for midnight."
The omitted portion here is to claim, of this I am sure. Aeturnus has mentioned multiple times that he intended only to speak with one of us. This lends some credibility to the claim that Aeturnus may in fact have been multiple people throughout the ages, passing down the cloak to hide his death, but this isn't certain just yet. The final three sentences are able to be interpreted rather wildly, and my personal interpretation was that the Aeturnus present in this excerpt may have died, as it states that "the man surrendered to the inevitable". There's also the symbolism with a clock chiming that I could explain, but I'd rather leave it open until I can confirm some things. Many have tried time and time again to delay the inevitable, and we humans have partially succeeded in doing so with our advances in medicine. But perhaps Aeturnus had a loftier goal. Remember, First: Forge Eternity".
After that, I found a number of interesting things in the Storage Chamber in a previous Blood Shift. In particular, there were 3 intact progress reports remaining. One for the Replica project, one for the Eternity project, and one for the Blood Body.
Starting with the Replica project, it begins by stating that this is a failure report, and the items used in it were a Stone Sword and a Stone Gear, if I'm understanding it correctly. It mentions that while replications succeeded construction-wise, they did not function as an authentic blood weapon would, as they lacked the blood energy present in blood weapons. It then brings up an interesting tidbit, namely that if the researchers behind this project could not replicate a blood weapon, the odds of them replicating the "EW" were highly unlikely. "EW?", you might ask. I believe it's time for our next report, the Eternity project.
Here we see that it immediately states that the Eternity Project has been delayed. Afterwards, it states "No matter whose blood weapon we use, we are unable to recreate the ________ present in _________ weapon. Whatever chain of events caused this ________. We are completely baffled by it. Upon speaking with ___________ I get the feeling he knows what caused it."
Here we have more omitted words, but this time I actually cannot guess them all. The first omitted word is a mystery to me, but I'm assuming it's to do with the aforementioned Blood Energy. The second omitted word however I feel must be Eternity. This matches up too well with the "EW" project mentioned in previous reports, and I will return to this again later. The third omitted word is also a mystery to me, but it may be "Breakthrough", as reports found later on seem to suggest the opposite of what this report opened up with. Afterwards, the fourth omitted word would be "Aeturnus", I'm sure. He was the head of the research, or at least instrumental in carrying it out if the prior story was to be believed. After this, an "extended vacation" in quotes is brought up, and it is remniscent of one of the earlier reports penned by the nigh on 80-year-old man that brought up Disney World and extended vacations as well. But there is never any sign of those people returning to work. My theory regarding this is that either Aeturnus sent them to their deaths, actually sent them away, or they're waiting until we're all dead or finished here before returning.
After this, we have the last of the reports from the Storage Chamber, the "Blood Body project". Immediately it begins with "BLOOD BODY PROJECT ___________." I'm going to honestly assume it is completed here for reasons that I will explain soon. Afterwards, it brings up yet another sentence with a word hidden from us, "After conducting our research and attempting synchronization between the Blood _______ and Blood Gears, we have found ________."
With this, one can assume that one of the blood weapons in this game is compatible with the blood gears, and there is more of a reaction than some red light appearing on them for one of the Blood Weapons. I have yet to start attempting to fixate the blood gears on the blood clock, but I believe that will be one of the first things I will attempt to do. If so, then the rest of the report goes on to mention that these gears were extensions of the previously omitted blood weapon, the Blood Clock. It then goes on to mention that there is something different about the Blood Clock. However... We had found a rather strange gauntlet prior that was extremely heavy, and judging by things mentioned by... I believe it was Seija, she had tested the gears on it and found that they also had a reaction. This leads me to believe that this gauntlet had Blood Energy within, which means that it was a blood weapon. One could assume that gauntlet might even belong to Aeturnus, but I do not have much more of a theory in regards to what the gauntlet did, as it was too heavy to be dragging around everywhere.
Afterwards, I managed to solve a riddle that allowed access into the Room of Replicas.
Within that room, I found a piece of paper within one of the pods that I made a post about in the previous shift's Blood Room. The paper for those of you who may not have read it yet reads as follows...
"I am unable to replicate my weapon through the same means as I would make a blood weapon. I can only think of one reason why this would not work and that reason is at once strange and terrifying. I wonder if I can recreate the mutation of my weapon in another… If I can do that then I have found the solution. This story isn’t going to end so easily! Time wins by lasting longer than me and I can’t have that!"
I am willing to assume that this was written by Aeturnus, as we can assume he is the one who has provided us with our Blood Weapons. But here we discover that he has made a breakthrough in his research, something that is both "strange and terrifying". He then expresses interest in recreating the mutation with his Blood Weapon with another, then stating that if he succeeds in doing so, he will have "found the solution". What is the solution? My guess is that it is the solution to the Eternity Weapon project. We were brought here to test the Blood Weapons, and for one of us to replace Aeturnus or to aid him in his research. One of us is a traitor. Also, his final statement, that "Time wins by lasting longer than me and I can't have that!" might just refute everything about him passing down his name throughout the centuries, as it could allude to him being eternity or death or what have you.
Thank you for listening. I'm fairly certain I forgot to explain some things, so if there is anything that you would like me to clear up, please ask and I will attempt to explain it to the best of my ability.
