"I-It must be 01... there's nobody else who can be linked to the murder... he even admitted to causing the blackout. 01 is the only suspect that we have! His alibi could easily have been faked, or he could have multiple other accomplices! He must have stabbed Christie in the eye, and then used the 5th prince's servant bathroom to wash off the blood! Afterwards, he went back downstairs to sit in the electrical room so nobody suspected a thing! Probably with his other accomplices too! P-poor... poor Christie... she didn't deserve this! None of us deserve this...!"

"If I were the killer, why would I have admitted to sabotaging the lights? The crew hadn't identified me. And based on the previous two blackouts, and whoever was rocking the ship back and forth, it clearly wasn't an indication of guilt."

"Frankly if that is your only defense, then this trial is all but closed. Unless anyone has more they'd like to contribute. If you left before the breakers were turned back on it's still possible you could have traveled to the foyer where Christie was murdered.
If you had chosen to hide your involvement with the electrical blackouts, it would only be more suspicious. Thus, your choices were either to be outed by another guard or to confess that you had a part in the outages, both are not ideal."

"I revealed my involvement because I want to full picture, same as all of you. I'm a detective. Before you cast your votes, I find it worrying that barely anybody has given alibis. An omission of an alibi altogether is much more suspicious than a questionable one."

"If we are trading alibis, I was in the Third Prince's room solving a puzzle during the blackout. I believe it was only after the lights turned back on that I went to the laundry room. Shortly thereafter, I left the laundry room and was in the Deck 2 commons where I initially spoke with you, 01, during the investigation period."

From there, I headed to the breaker room and, overcome by whimsy and mischievous spirit, I tampered with electrical. You've heard that story. I saw Vincent on my way out, without restoring the lights, and I went to storage. Nothing there struck my fancy, so I began to patrol the ship from top to bottom, checking for anyone who had taken advantage of the short malfunction. I was in the Deck 2 commons when the body was discovered."

"That's uh... can we pretend like I didn't say that...? Besides, all the prince rooms are free to enter, it's not like anyone was standing guard in the 5th prince's room. The killer used that bathroom because... they were trying to frame someone! 01 must be trying to frame Hu Tao because she was waving a knife around at the concert!"

"Hu Tao had a knife. I'm not saying it was used in the murder, if it was a prop, but she could have swapped it out in the kitchen to avoid suspicion. Did anyone check if the knives in the kitchen were all functional? This is doubly suspicious if none of them were standing guard."

"Perhaps I should give my alibi during my day. First I would like to confirm that shortly after the concert ended. Christie stood guard at the Second Prince Foyer and probably has not moved at all until the time she was killed."
"I also spent most of my day around Deck 2 and was also around there when the 3rd blackout happened. Some time later. I received a call from Carmilla through my walkie talkie and ordered me to fix the lights, find KoD and return to her quarters at once as it seemed something had happened. And so I went and look for the electric room and I eventually found it and it seems someone switched off the breakers and so I switched them back on and then I quickly returned to Carmilla's quarters to make sure she was okay and when I got to the second prince foyer that's where I found Carmilla there with the dead body of Christie lying on the floor... She asked me where KoD is but I told her haven't found her yet so I went out again to look for her and eventually found her in the Library then took her back with me to Carmilla's quarters."

 "Hmmm, lets see... When blackout happened I was in the bar getting a drink after live, I talked to bartender for a long while, hoping for blackout to end. Figured its dangerous to walk out in the dark ya know? Then I figured I could just get a candle from him and so I did and went on my way. Sorta ended up in Prince Tubby's lab at the end, met Huttie there too. Then we were busy plotting together when body announcement happened. Oh? Was I supposed to say last part?" |
