Tucked away in a narrow passageway and the end of the deck 3 hallway lie the kitchens. Unlike the grand kitchen on Deck 1, the crew kitchens are small and utilitarian. The walls are lined with stainless steel cabinets and appliances, and the floor is covered in heavy-duty linoleum. Despite its lack of aesthetic appeal, the crew kitchens are the heart of the ship's crew community. The smells of frying oil, garlic, and onions fill the air as the crew members prepare their meals. There are a few small tables and chairs scattered throughout the room, along with a refrigerator, microwave, and a couple of hotplates. Despite the cramped conditions, the crew members take pride in keeping the kitchen clean and organized. They have developed a system for sharing cooking duties and cleaning up after themselves, and the camaraderie in the kitchen is palpable. It's a place for the crew to come together, share a meal, and forget about the stresses of life at sea, if only for a little while.
