The crew lounges on the boat are small, cramped rooms each of which are identical.
It's a stark contrast to the grandeur of the ballroom and the luxury of the Prince's private rooms on Deck 1. The walls are plain white, and the floor is covered in industrial-grade linoleum. The ceiling is low, and the room feels stuffy, with the air heavy with the smell of sweat and cigarette smoke. There are a few small tables and chairs scattered throughout the room, along with a battered sofa and a few chairs pulled from the dining room on Deck 1. A small television, mounted on the wall, flickers with a grainy image of an old movie, the sound tinny and distorted. Against the walls, further confining the space, are some washing machines and dryers. Despite its humble appearance, the crew lounge is a vital space for the ship's crew. It's a place to unwind after long hours in the engine room, to socialize with fellow crew members, and to pass the time during long voyages. On any given evening, the crew lounge is filled with the sounds of laughter, conversation, the clinking of beer bottles, and the sounds of running washing machines.
