The engine room is a massive, cavernous space located at the back end of Deck 3. The room is dimly lit, with only a few bare lightbulbs scattered throughout, casting harsh shadows across the room. The air is thick with the smell of oil, fuel, and other mechanical odors, and the sound of the engines reverberates throughout the space. The room is dominated by the massive engines that power the ship. The engines themselves are massive, towering structures that fill the majority of the room, with pipes, hoses, and wires snaking in and out of them. The walls and floors of the engine room are made of bare metal, with grime and grease stains covering every surface. There are a few narrow walkways between the engines, just wide enough for a single person to walk through. Along these walkways, there are various controls and gauges for monitoring the engines' performance, as well as emergency shutdown switches in case of a catastrophic failure. The engine room is not a comfortable or welcoming place, and is typically off-limits to all but the most essential crew members. The noise, heat, and vibration make it a difficult place to work, and the sheer size of the engines is intimidating. Nonetheless, the engine room is the beating heart of the ship, and without it, the vessel would be dead in the water.
