The crew quarters are located in the darkest and most secluded part of the ship. The air is damp and musty, and the lighting is dim, casting deep shadows on the walls and floors. The cabins are small, cramped, and sparsely furnished with basic amenities. Each cabin typically contains two or three narrow metal bunks, with thin mattresses and scratchy blankets. The walls are painted a dull gray, and the floors are covered in worn linoleum. There is a small sink in the corner of the room, but no other furniture except for a metal chair and a battered metal locker for storage. The air conditioning is unreliable, and the temperature in the cabins can be uncomfortably hot or cold depending on the weather outside. The noise from the ship's engines and machinery is constant and can be heard through the thin walls, making it difficult to sleep or concentrate.
