Starless Dusk Pregame

[Falin Touden [Ven]]

A girl walks into the room after following the masked men, "Oh hi there! My name is Shinka Nibutani!". Shinka looks across the room, "Oh! Satone! I didn't realise you were going to be here too!"

[Ryo Asuka]

Ryo Asuka looked around at all the other people in the room. Humans. So predictable. He looked at the one who called himself Itriot. Ryo analyzed him and tried to get a bearing on him. This was definitely not Earth. Does this mean this was not his domain to attempt to rule over? Did he have any say in this land? In any case, Ryo desired destruction. Even if not of Earth, this place could be a wonderful utopia of his creation. 

*Ryo let out a soft smirk without even realizing it*

He quickly corrected himself. He then looked over at the girl who wanted to destroy all angels. Was she a demon? What was she doing here? If her allegiance lied with Satan, would she help aid Ryo? In any case, it was better to keep a low profile while here. Not too many people would probably be kind to somebody who was sympathetic to demons. Maybe it would be better for him to continue his plan from Earth. He didn't have Akira here with him, but maybe he could...persuade...somebody else. In any case, he needed to find out who this Starless King was. He could not have any kings stand in his way.

"Excuse me. Itriot, was it? Who exactly is this Starless King? Will we ever have the honor of meeting with him?"

[The City [EclipseZwolf]]

Itriot: "Excellent questions all! It just so happens that I can answer them....to a degree! Let us address these in order, as the King would prefer!"

-Itriot faces Satone and spreads his arms-

Itriot: "You are already on the path to becoming a Starless Lord! This place is for that purpose! I cannot reveal the exact details, as that is the duty of the Overlord once everyone has been gathered, but by participating in this you will have the chance to ascend as a Starless Lord! Should you be recognized as worthy, then you shall be granted the status, and power associated with, a Starless Lord!"

-Itriot spins back towards Ryo-

Itriot: "I must apologize, I serve the Starless King with every breath so it is easy to forget that very few have interacted with him such as I! To summarize, the Starless King is the leader of the Starless City and all Starless Lords answer to him, a wonderful calling! You likely have only heard of him from respective lords as the King does not interact with the citizens directly, leaving that honor to his lords!"

-Itriot places his face in his hands as if mourning-

Itriot: "Ah! That I could not show you all our benevolent king's self brings me to tears! The king himself will likely only grant audience to the ascendant Lord, so it too will have to wait until the ascension to Starless Lord is complete! Alas, I shall count the days until it happens and welcome them into the fold as another dedicated servant of the Starless King!"

-The silver masked lord gazes listlessly off to one side before sullenly chiming in-


Silver Mask: "Starless King is an understatement. If you were to grant him a title akin to his power, Starless God would be more appropriate. He and he alone dictates when these trials are to be held for new Starless Lords. I advise that you hope not to meet him more than once. There is a reason a common Starless Lord farewell is 'May the Starless King's gaze NOT fall upon you.' Why Itriot seems to enjoy it is a mystery darker than our Starless sky."

[Ryo Asuka]

Ryo shook his head in disappointment. Just another god figure who pretends to care about his people but does not actually care enough to live in their presence. 

"I mean no disrespect, but do the citizens enjoy being ruled by an unseen force? We have a similar being in our realm. Our Creator made our world but refuses to even step foot on his creation. Instead, He simply sits back and lets people fight each other, trusting that they will have unwavering obedience to His word without ever offering proof of his existence. I hope you understand why I am not very fond of kings that rule from the shadows. Again, I mean no disrespect. I am merely curious as to how your world operates and wish to learn more."

[The City [EclipseZwolf]]

-Itriot shrugs his shoulders submissively-

Itriot: "Aye, it is true many think like you do. In fact, I suspect those of you here feel at least similar about the Great one. After all, the law against leaving the city is not explained to the regular citizens and enforced quite heavily."

-Itriot puts both his hands on Ryo's shoulders-

Itriot: "I too once thought it to be foolhardy! But then, I met the King and he showed me the way! In his glory I understood and I know that those here who meet him will no doubt feel the same! And because I know that! I forgive you for your insults to Our true Starless King!"

-Itriot lets go and steps back-

Itriot: "In addition, our king does provide the Starless Laws to guide the City. They keep this place at peace, a peace that would no doubt be shattered without the king! Praise his Darkness and his benevolence!"

[Ryo Asuka]

Ryo was unnerved by being touched, but he hid is disgust as to appear gracious and humble.

"If you do not mind me asking, do you happen to have a list of these laws which govern this place? I think it would be helpful to know which laws there are so that we do not break any of them."

[The City [EclipseZwolf]]

-Itriot takes a deep breath as he prepares to begin a massive lecture on the laws of the Starless City, their history, how they are enforced, and why each is important when Silver Mask quickly pipes up-

Silver Mask: "Please Itriot. They don't need a history lesson. Besides. The overwhelming majority of those laws no longer apply to the people here."

-Itriot releases his breath in a sigh of his own which screams disappointment. Silver mask continues-

Silver Mask: "There are many laws covering rather unique circumstances and the rules of the City, but there is a separate set of rules for those attempting to ascend. As with the ascension process, most of that information will be revealed by the Overlord. The original basic laws that matter to you right now are:" 

All citizens are forbidden from leaving the Starless City
Violence between citizens excluding those given unique permissions is forbidden.
No citizen may refuse to obey a Starless Lord or the Starless King.

-Silver Mask rapidly concludes-

Silver Mask: "Itriot can lecture you if you become a lord on the finer points and other laws."

[Satori]

A girl with an eye patch appears from the void walks in. She sees Yuuta and Nibutain here and also notices Satone here too. She confronts Satone and does a battle pose.



"So we meet again my arch nemesis Magical Devil Girl Sophia Ring SP Saturn VII! You must be here to become a Starless Lord as well?"

[John Dark Souls]

Even as different conversations take place in the room, the strange sobbing from behind the couch never ceases. But despite nobody paying attention or inquiring about it, or maybe precisely because of that, the sobbing seems to be growing louder.

"Shiku shiku (sobbing sounds in jap)... How could this... *sob* happen to Mishy... *sob sob* This is... *sobbity sob* the end..."

[Daiwa Scarlet]

"Oh, Mori Summer. So you found your way here as well, but I suppose that is to be expected of The Last Mage."


*She starts floating over to Mori Summer, but sense a disturbance in the force and quickly dodges out of the way*

"I see that the Tyrant's Eye has not been slacking off either. Yuusha and I actually got our invitation to this realm while searching for the Dark Flame Dragon.
 These Starless Lords might be hiding secrets about it, so this seemed like a great opportunity to investigate further. Nihahahaha."

[The City [EclipseZwolf]]

-Silver Mask observes the people interacting, clearly noting that they know each other from somewhere. He leans back and looks up at the ceiling before letting out another sigh. Itriot looks over at him and comments-

Itriot: "She probably planned it this way."

Silver Mask: "It wouldn't surprise me. This punishment would have been bad enough with a normal Overlord."

Itriot: "I have no doubt that our great Starless King knew that and likely assigned us to her precisely because of the kind of Overlord she is. It is because he expects greatness from us! We should endeavor to live up to his expectations!"

Silver Mask: "...Doesn't mean I have to enjoy it."

-Silver mask sullenly pulls out some kind of metal puzzle and begins to fiddle with it. Itriot takes the opportunity provided by new arrivals to toss some more wood onto the fire-

[Xaniks]

"Hey, would any of you lord-fellows have any vodka? A guest should always be served."

[Daiwa Scarlet]

Satone perks up at the conversation between the Starless Lords and mumbles, "Oh, did she now..."



She prances over to the Starless Lords, "So why does this ritual require three Starless Lords?
If one has the power to defeat the Angels, then surely three would go far beyond.
Could it be that the Starless have ranks amongst themselves... perhaps indicated by the masks and robes?
Something like the ranks of Angels and Demons."

[Satori]

Rikka stares coldly at Satone...



"Oh is that so...? I think I know what you're planning here! You actually want to become a Starless Lord so you could have the Dark Flame Master all to yourself isn't it? If that's the case then..."





Rikka does some weird poses and removes her eye patch revealing a yellow contact lens unleashing her power!



"I shall stop you right here! Prepare yourself Magical Devil Girl!"

Rikka then takes a battle stance and then summons a imaginary giant staff and prepares to attack Sophia.

[Karenina]

As Rikka went into chunni mode, her magical staff attack was abruptly stopped by Yuuta


"Right, right... That´s enough from both of you. Can´t you both set aside your delusions for bit? The situation is not really suited for your childish games right now"


"Hold on. Nibutani-san is here as well? I didn´t actually expect to meet you all here of all places but I am glad you are all alright."
