(OOC: Rei was horribly slaughtered by Mystio after entering a room that negated arcanas. The Room was a player room and had a series of chairs with knives on them. Bodies aside, the digital something room on the third floor reminds me of that room. Not that its important, but Rei was butchered with a Battle Axe and a Shield.)
Well while I fear the mastermind here has some motive, I feel it has to do with the chained up person in the music room. I imagine that Lumai was lured there as mentioned in the note, then bound up like that since they couldn't kill him.
Whoever that bound person is, they are extremely dangerous. I am the carrier of the Hanged Man and the Death Arcanas. When I approached them Death warned me I was about to die and when I examined him through the Hanged Man.....
Lets just say the Hanged Man didn't give me any information and just screamed to run away as fast as humanly possible.
I propose that our mystery man chained up Lumai and is holding this game repeatedly in an attempt to create a person who can use the Star and learn the truth of how to slay the bound up Lumai.
There are other possibilities, but let me propose some other pieces to this puzzle. The mastermind questioned why he couldn't hear from his spy and mentioned it was a "her." My only conclusion there assuming that spy is among us would be that Kirigiri was that spy. She was killed outside the bounds of the rules for basically no apparent reason.
The card storage room is likely the gallery on the upper floors. It has containers for all the Arcanas except The World and descriptions of them all. For those who did not read them allow me to enlighten you as to each of the cards.
“I – The Magician
The Magician is an arcana of deception. Ultimately deceiving everyone by masking one’s own intentions. The Magician allows one to instantly move from one place to the next, and lie to those who know everything.”
“II – The High Priestess
The High Priestess is a unique arcana, one of healing. The High Priestess is perhaps the doctor of all arcanas, for it can repair any arcana previously destroyed, provided that one has a fragment of it. This extends to people as well, for The High Priestess has the power to heal any injury.”
“III – The Empress
The Empress is an arcana of protection. It can provide oneself and all around them a protective bulwark against any other arcana. The Empress can only be used by a female holder.”
“IV – The Emperor
The Emperor is an arcana of command. Commanding one’s subjects is only natural for The Emperor. Orders can only be issued once per day. The Emperor can only be used by a male holder.”
“V – The Hierophant
The Hierophant is an arcana of wisdom. In times of distress, a great moral leader is needed. Thus The Hierophant possesses the power to announce to the masses of important matters. It also has the curious power of communication with the dead.”
“VI – The Lovers
The Lovers is a self-explanatory arcana. It links two entities in body and soul. Should an ill-fated event befall one, it would also befall the other.”
“VII – The Chariot
The Chariot is an arcana of change. Change is an integral part of reality, and The Chariot can accelerate that change. People’s intentions will change around The Chariot, making them unable to use the arcana which matched their characteristic until the change reverts.”
“VIII – Justice
Justice is an arcana of truth. Like truth, lies are no match for the power of Justice. However, the power of truth must be masked else deceit will follow. Once the identity of Justice is known, they will immediately lose the power to control the arcana.”
“IX – The Hermit
The Hermit is an arcana of isolation. The possessor of The Hermit is an observer, someone who does not involve themselves with the affairs of others. The Hermit can observe things without ever being there in person, watching from the shadows, but unable to change anything.”
“X – Wheel of Fortune
The Wheel of Fortune is a unique arcana, only awarded to chance. Those with the greatest deviation and shift in intention will be able to use the Wheel of Fortune. While the Wheel of Fortune’s power is awarded to chance, its ability to undo major events by reversing time is a force to be reckoned with. By randomizing the course of events through time, the Wheel of Fortune is perhaps the only arcana which can combat Fate.”
“XI – Strength
Strength is a straightforward arcana. It is awarded to the strong, and gives them exceptional physical abilities. However, Strength is not simply an advantage to its holder. For what defeats Strength? More strength.”
“XII – The Hanged Man
The Hanged Man is an arcana of insight. For a user of The Hanged Man, seeing is the same as knowing. Everything of whatever they observe is revealed to the holder, be it important or insignificant. However, The Hanged man is a doomed arcana. The holder of this arcana will always be subject to annihilation by Fate.”
“XIII – Death
Death is a namesake arcana. Holding the knowledge of every death that occurs is the ability grated to the holder of Death, be it one’s own, or another. Death is one of the few arcanas intertwined with Fate. For when Fate decides to end one’s life, what other method would be used than Death?”
“IXV – Temperance
Temperance is an arcana of the people. With Temperance in play, the intentions of everyone will be laid bare. Using Temperance will reveal to the holder the intentions of everyone around them.”
“XV – The Devil
The Devil is an arcana of deception. The Devil thrives, when truth is masked with lies. The holder of this arcana can easily manipulate others into lying, whether by changing their words, or their intentions. However, just as the reach of temptation is limited, The Devil can only manipulate a single person at a time.”
“XVI – The Tower
The Tower is an arcana of calamity. The holder of The Tower knows everything, everything that will bring calamity, whether it be Fate or Chance. Nothing can escape the eyes of The Tower, for it is a reliquary of everything.”
“XVII – The Star
The Star is an arcana of revelation. No secrets can be kept from The Star. One’s thoughts will be unveiled, secret passages will open, everything will be revealed to the holder of this arcana. However, this arcana is special. The Star will only be awarded to the leader who shines the brightest in the darkest of times.”
“XVIII – The Moon
The Moon is an arcana of darkness. Hiding in the shadows and striking when the time is right is the specialty of The Moon. Just as the darkness hides the light of The Moon, the holder of this arcana can both shroud rooms in darkness and detect others in the dark.”
“IXX – The Sun
The Sun is an arcana of light. While the gentle light of The Star might expose one’s secrets, the harsh light of The Sun is blinding. The holder of The Sun can burn those near them, crippling and rendering their senses useless. For while The Moon might hide in darkness, The Sun will hide in a sheer blinding light.”
“XX – Judgment
Judgment is an arcana of conviction. The holder of Judgment will deliver punishment on those caught in their conviction, and as long as their conviction remains steadfast, the holder will remain Immortal on their seat in trial.”
I quote, "Shines brightest in the darkest of Times," that's the only reason to hold this game for any reason besides despair. To find one who can Use the Star.
