Season Meta was born from the result of 2 conflicting plans.
First Togami had decided to get rid of any traces of the previous Project Witch and Project Immortal which were draining funds from his company. The immortality project was originally to find a secret treasure hidden on the island that required an immortal's blood, but none of the subjects measured up to it.
Togami decided to destroy the island the projects were being held on by faking a volcanic explosion due to the large magma chambers under the island. Togami invited the people who had been funding the projects to the island a week prior to his plan to destroy it in order to wipe out the evidence of the project. He created a false game with gold to keep the people there busy until his explosives were ready.
As Togami arrived on the island, all he had to do was let the remote controller he had been preparing connect with the explosive triggers in the underground tunnels underneath the island in order to trigger the explosion. And so, Togami got everything he wanted, for the most part.
Lambdadelta was the subject of Project Witch initiated from the Togami corporation almost a year ago. After so long in captivity, she formulated a plan to escape and exact her vengeance, and the new Project Immortal gave her that chance.
The subjects of Project Immortal were held in the same place Lambda was, and she used her telepathy to construct an alternate reality where they could talk. Lambda used the remaining dregs of her power along with the combined residual power of all the Project Immortal subjects to control the people at the meeting on the island. As the subjects of Project Immortal slowly built up power in the Metaworld Lambda had created, she took the power for herself and strengthened her hold on the people at the meeting.
Finally, on the seventh day of the meeting, Lambda had stored enough power to overcome the bindings of her container and break free. The power surge freed a few others who had completed the objectives she had given her. However, the few other subjects she had freed turned on her and killed her in the process. In the end, Lambda was never able to exact her vengeance on the Togami Corporation.
