The Contract Faerie
Hanna Association Provided Description:
The Contract Faerie is an entity of unknown origin, believed to originally have been a monster from the outskirts that obtained access into the city. The Faerie has no consistent appearance, instead showing up wearing one of many different bodies believed to have been traded for from the inhabitants of the City. The only identifying trait that is consistent with every shell used by the Faerie are its eyes. You will know it is the Faerie when you look into its eyes. To quote one person who met them.
"In its eyes was an endless hedge maze. I only locked eyes with it for a second but felt that moment drag on for what seemed like a decade as I fled blindly through that maze, thorns tearing at my mind and soul with each step. When I finally escaped, the thing had closed its eyes and I stood there, covered in actual scratches."
The Faerie's motivations are unknown. It appears before people and offers to negotiate a contract. While none of the affected are able to show the contract itself or describe it, they showcase odd abilities afterward that vary from person to person.
The Faerie takes something in exchange for assisting with the contract. It is not confirmed at this time as no one who meets them remembers what precisely was the price.
The Contract Faerie is designated a Star of the City as its influence has been seen throughout the City and its contracted have shown a tendency to eventually lose their minds and inflict considerable damage to the city in the process. It is unclear if the Faerie is a powerful combatant as no one has reportedly engaged with them, but it's possible people have and there just haven't been any survivors.
Flow's Notes:
General rule of thumb with the unknown. Run away. That said, the complete lack of information means the only Fixer who might bring this thing down is probably one that has taken a Contract, but somehow retained memory of it. Too risky for me.
