The Metagame: Inquisition Room

Here you find a large room filled with a circular set of trial stands. There are sixteen stands in all, each assigned with a name for each person in the metagame. The walls, floor, and ceiling in this room seem to shift from scenes on the gameboard.

Murder Report #1

Victim: Yu Narukami

Time of Death: The body was found at approxmiately 4:30pm PST

Cause of Death: Blunt force trauma to the head

Location: The body was found in the Pavilion.

I had noticed the death of Yu slightly before 4 pm yesterday because I had taken a look in the pavilion to see whether Yu was still asleep. This was around the time when the storm started getting worse (3:55 pm) and I asked whether Yu had returned to the mansion yet. I am not one of the three players who discovered the body as I was wondering whether I could just announce it and hadn't told our host about my discovery.

My sister's alibi would be that the item I spawned for her is not the hammer and we can only spawn one item per day. She was also standing around in the corridor and living rooms trying to decide what to do next, so anyone who passed would have seen her.

My sister walked by the pavilion at 1:42 pm and Yu was still alive at that point. The hammer was spawned at 2:57 pm and the trail of blood in the pavilion is not accompanied by a trail of water, so the culprit arrived before the rain started at 3:34 pm.

Yu was likely killed by the hammer that was abandoned on the beach. I have not discovered anything else that is obviously related to the murder.

The culprit probably had blood splatter on them and had to wash their clothing in the sea or in the rain. Unless there are pieces in hiding, the only pieces that are soaked are Tatsumi and Drei. I checked for the smell of ocean water, but it seems that the rain had washed the scent away. No one had changed clothing as far as I can tell.

The hammer weighs four units so the culprit probably had to leave some of his items on the beach to pick it up. However, they both seem equally grimy from their showers in the rain so that tells little.

The fact that the hammer is smith's hammer points to John Smith over Nuadha Argetlam, but that may just be a coincidence.

Very well, Allow me to begin the first Conviction in our game.
I am most displeased at the death of the piece Drei and shall condemn his murderer.

The piece that robbed Drei of his life was none other than Akame!

Well, we did have quite a few interesting convictions in this trial, but...

All of you were completely wrong!

Akame, a murderer? Of course not!

And what's this about magic involved? There was no such thing!

Regardless, two of our players have won their respective convictions and have gained the right to revive their pieces. I'll be modifying the gameboard shortly. Good luck on your other convictions, you'll certainly need it!
