"If it is truly impossible, then we will slowly run out of alternative explanations. As I'm mulling over possible suspects, there really aren't that many options. Prince Tubeppa, Hu Tao, and Otoshin were all off the ship at the time, and yet you and Prince Benjamin were idling in a quite central room of the ship. Ynes was moving around the ship a few times, but there are very little possible killers I can think of. If Vinny did not return in a bloody state as Ynes says, and Vinny says that it would be impossible, regardless of applied force, to not be splattered with blood in this murder, then what are we left with? I hardly believe the killer simply waited it out on Deck 3 this entire time and refused to emerge from a hiding spot, and as far as I can tell no one here is obviously bloodied and simply 'avoided detection through investigation and the trial.' So what are we left with?"
"The killer left Deck 3, and the killer is covered in blood but not enough to leave a trail or footprints. Perhaps you three could enlighten me as to what other possibility there could be, since I'm still quite suspicious of all of you."

"With Gat and Jekyll, they need only to have used one of the secret passages connecting Deck 1 to Deck 2, of which there are many possible options, Prince 2's and Prince 5's secret passages being well known by now. Of course, there were traps set in both of the princes' rooms, but since that's also common knowledge they could have easily bypassed them. Or perhaps they used Prince 3's secret passage, any secret passage works. Then either one could have used Prince 3's coin magic to clean the blood off of themselves, becoming the magician that we're searching for. After the murder, they could have gotten back up using the servant elevator to enter the Deck 1 Kitchen, and resumed whatever they were doing."
"Teng Bei's case seems a little special, since he was one of the people who found the body... but there's a simple way to get around that. If another person saw the body before Hu Tao, and ignored it or didn't mention it for some reason, then Teng Bei wouldn't have been one of the innocent people to have found the body, but the culprit instead. There could have also been a group who entered along with Teng Bei or Hu Tao, who could have seen the body at the same time and triggered the announcement. Otherwise, as with Gat and Jekyll, Teng Bei could have used the coin magic to clean the blood off of himself, becoming the magician!" |

"While I'm flattered you think I may be involved with this murder, I was on Deck 1 since 6/25. I honestly wasn't even aware that Prince 2's suite was trapped until you mentioned it here. In order for that theory against me to work, I would've needed to walk through the Deck 2 Commons and enter the Spa to access the Employee Hallway. Again, Prince Benjamin and Vinny were holed up there the whole time and would have seen me walking by."
I do, however, think the Prince Benjamin theory is the more solid amongst the few you've put forward."

"There is no reason... to suspect Jekyll... I had settled on Deck 1 myself... and I saw Jekyll around. We had a conversation... around the time Kaede had... presumably died... I do not remember seeing Ynes... at any point during that time either..."
"First Prince... B-Benji. First Prince Guard Cappucino... Do we take this as... refusal of inspection from both of you..?"
"And um... Third Prince Guard Teng Bei..? Could we inconvenience you and ask... How many coins do you have in your possession..?"
