When I went about the ship in the days before the blackout, I came across members of other Princes' retinues, but I do not recall encountering either of you."

During... these return trips, I would merely pass by the hallway as quickly as possible... I do not remember... seeing anyone in the hallway... except Odelia. She seemed... nice... A warm personality..."

"Since KoD mentions that she was on Deck 1 for the duration of the blackout and was actively patrolling the halls, I find it reasonable to suspect that she may be involved with the murder. The blackout took place between 8:41PM to 9:03PM UTC on 4/30/23, and the body discovery was prompted by a timeout. Like Otoshin says, only one of the items used for the red herring shards requires a visit to Deck 3, being the cheap ceramic shards from the kitchen. All other items can be obtained on Deck 1. Otoshin also says that his camera from the Staff Hallway went missing, suggesting that someone may have tampered with it in order to use the passage from Deck 2 to Deck 1 without detection. However, given the amount of time that has passed between the previous trials, Albert’s death, and the body discovery announcement, we cannot accurately assess when these items were taken. Let’s assume all of this, including the towels, was prepared beforehand, which would benefit our assailant to have to travel less during the blackout."
"KoD likely began by bringing all of these items to Prince Carmilla’s suite or another stash she has on Deck 1 prior to the blackout, where she broke them to obtain plantable red herrings. After entering Prince Tubeppa’s suite and planting her red herrings, she kills Albert using the towels and her newly-acquired shards. She would have had Hu Tao’s scarf at her disposal in the Servant Quarters which she promptly used to tie up the body and frame Hu Tao. KoD would then return to Prince Carmilla’s suite in order to use their passageway to the Theater and throw all her used towels into the Laundry. Notably, Otoshin doesn’t see anyone besides himself on the Theater camera, suggesting that KoD used her ability under Prince Carmilla to escape detection when leaving the passageway. With this theory, she would only need to use this ability once."

"This theory would align with KoD’s claims that she intermittently checked on Prince Carmilla, and would also place her statement that she 'saw no one during the blackout' as a bold-faced lie. In addition, all of this passageway usage aligns with her lack of logged movement through the Prince Reception, since all of this was possible without walking through that room."

"It is as you say. One of the shards requires a visit to Deck 3. I must remind you, that I had completely solid alibis both during the duration of trial 1 and trial 2, where I was seen a lot by my comrades... Especially Lady Carmilla, Kaede and Ynes... This drastically lowers my window of opportunity to obtain shards from any location. I would have to either plan it very far ahead, or do everything at the last second. I have not gone to Deck 3 nor Laundry Room for a very, very long time... And the times I did, involve a witness. To go to Deck 3 now, means sneaking past all security... The Reception... Cameras. Witnesses. Even with Lady Carmilla's blessing, it is not likely for me to move around and prepare all the shards without being spotted at the relevant locations.
Are there any witnesses... who have ever seen me remotely close to places like Deck 3 and Laundry Room ever since Trial 2..?"
The reason to why I must mention trial 2 is... motive. I would technically have no reason to target Albert this specifically until the end of trial 2, where I have supposedly voted for him in endless enmity. It would only make sense for me to start planning his personal demise after Trial 2... Because if I wished death upon him before that... It would have been much simpler to accuse him as a murder accomplice myself. But you did not see me... make any offensive moves during the trial... did you? There is... only the opportunistic voting."
I would also like to point out the Reception entries. Please take a look and realize, that there are none of my entries to be seen in the newset log... Even if you check the old one (old reception thread, page 4) you would see that my latest entry is at the exact same time as Kaede. Meaning I had a witness with me, who initially found me at the library if I remember correctly. And this specific and only Library trip I had is covered by Ynes. This clear lack of logs means I either remained on Deck 1 for a very long time, or I snuck out a lot through passageway, then abused Lady Carmilla's blessing to get back in.
I must ask... When would I have the time to prepare such things..? When would I... obtain these shards? My past alibis... make it very hard for me to organize something of this complexity. I would have to think... very, very far ahead."
KoD opens her eye by just an inch... Looking at nothing in particular.
"Unlikely as it is for me to get the Deck 3 plate and the towel from Laundry... Allow me to humor you and let us pretend I did somehow manage to obtain everything I needed. I suppose I can at least counter whatever assumptions I can... Firstly, I must break the plates and glass to obtain the shards. Breaking things like this... make noise. It makes it impossible for me to break anything this loud in the vicinity without Lady Carmilla hearing this. Even then, specifically during which one of my 2nd Prince Room trips would I have an opportunity to do so? After the blackout ends... its is already too late after all. I would have to break everything I need during the blackout, as this is where my alibi is most insecure. But... I was not aware that Prince Benji, Hu Tao and Ynes were all at the same Deck as me. If I smashed anything to obtain shards on Deck 1, they are likely to have heard some kind of sound. I would then have to waste precious time during the blackout to clean up this whole mess. Meaning less time to murder during blackout. "

You then brought up the cameras... To be able to commit murder during the blackout, I must do so in the first half of the blackout. Tubeppa herself says, that Albert was last seen leaving after blackout had already started. I would have less than 20 minutes to do the murder, move through the passageway, avoid being seen entirely on my way to Laundry room and then spend time making all the way back unseen to the Staff Hallway. By this time, surely the first 10-15 minutes of the total blackout time have already passed, no matter how efficient my time management is. However, Otoshin has camera footage showing Staff Hallway at the final part of the blackout. Therefore, not having Lady Carmilla's blessing... I would not be able to get past him at any point.
Your whole point of Kaede can be countered by a simple witness testimony of both Lady Carmilla and Kaede herself, alongside me. To walk through the Prince 2 passageway... We would both have to get past Lady Carmilla at the same time, having her witness us. Regardless, Ynes arrived to me talking to Lady Carmilla first... Only after her appearance did Kaede emerge. With an additional support from Ynes's testimony, there is no room for such theory.
