T-T-Tiebreaker!
Alright guys, we had a perfect 50/50 split on the votes for the next Eclipse Season. The original plan was to have the people who voted for the losing sides to have to decide between the two leaders. BUT NONE OF YOU VOTED FOR THE OTHERS.


As such we are going to have a little guessing game here. Its simple.

In the voting thread I posted a message saying there was a balance of power between 3 things. One of those things is Aeturnus.

I want people to post below what they think those two other factions/things are in relation to Aeturnus. (EX: Aeturnus's second removed cousin)
And why you think they would be in opposition to Aeturnus. (EX: Aeturnus ate all the cookies in the jar)

In your post I also want you to state which of the two seasons you would rather play. Emerald or Zircon. Whoever is the closest to the right answer will have their choice of season as posted below be the next season. I WILL NOT TELL YOU WHO GOT IT RIGHT, you guys are just gonna have to guess and hope. Of course even if you all shoot way off target someone will be closer than the others.

The three factions would be Aeturnus' faction, along with two others. Together, these three factions represent the past, the present and the future. Or maybe even Time, Space and Life. Blah, both are good, but I think I'll go with the latter.

The reason why they oppose Aeturnus is due to their difference in beliefs. If we believe that the three factions represent the past, present and future, you can easily end up opposing the other faction's views. This is because those that aim for the past want to return to that which worked beforehand, those that live in the present do not care for the future or past, and those that live for the future wish it to be greater than both the past and present. That's one way of looking at it.

If we go with the factions being Time, Space and Life/death/whatever, I think that there could easily be oppositions between the three factions here, as well as alliances for the time being as well. It would be an interesting relationship to see the forces of time work with life or death to either prevent people from dying, or to keep them alive. Space is there because spacetime continuum physics shenanigans. This one feels weaker than the last possibility though so uh... yeah, I can't justify this one without metagaming it so to speak.

Three Factions:

1. Aeturnus

2. Orbital Chariot Cannon

3. Zimbabwe

Reasoning:
It was the year 20XX, Aeturnus had made his stand. He had... a goal. However, this goal was was being blocked by the two other factions, those of the Orbital Chariot Cannon who resided in space... in the Orbital Chariot Cannon, and the Zimbabwe faction, the country that had managed to take over the world for it's own.

Aeturnus was one man against the world... and a giant cannon in space. Aeturnus's goal was to create another Eternity Weapon so the planet wouldn't be flooded by energy, however the Zimbabwe leader would not have this as he controlled the people with this massive amount of energy, using it as a weapon of fear amongst the people. He could not let Aeturnus have his way.

Those in the Orbital Chariot Cannon created the OCC ship in secret to take the world for their own and want to use the massive energy for their own, but none know of the apocolypse to come but Aeturnus... The OCC decided to reside in space and use their massive weapon to fight off the Zimbabwe faction hoping to fend them off and totally annihilate them, but their forces are strong. None know where Aeuturnus are though. The OCC search for him in the Sky, and the Zimbabwe faction on the ground.

Aeturnus was the only one who could do it... him and the last one he chose through a game to save the world.

Aeturnus's faction is the pro-humanity faction that aims to harvest energy and advance the human race.

The 2nd faction is the Earth faction (calling it Gaia) that wants to destroy humanity. Gaia wants to do so because Aeturnus's advancements on energy have brought humanity to a point where they threaten everything else on Earth and are continuously exploiting the earth for metals and such. Due to Aeturnus supporting humanity, Gaia thus opposes Aeturnus.

The 3rd faction is the space-time faction. Since Aeturnus exploited the energy connected to life, and directly manipulated time and space with it, this faction got angry at him for potentially destabilizing the flow of the universe. Thus, the space-time faction wants to strike down Aeturnus for the sake of returning balance to the universe.

Hmm... Im going to guess that Aeturnus represents the story route and the other two are the bad ending and perhaps a personal ending... or not... nvm that... think I should read more...

So one of the two hidden is related to the ending of a traitor colleague (maybe multiple), perhaps the person running this round of the game. Probably tests to determine the power of a type of weapon he/she created.
Aeturnus may not be aware of this yet, but some others are. They would be the third faction which is trying to foil the plans of the traitors although their own plans might also be on the clandestine side.
