"HARRO, EVERY-NYAN! HOW AH YOU? FAIN SANKYUU!"
This is Season Wakamoto, a season that myself and Sakuya have thought about making and hosting in light of recent events. Some folks are taking things waaaay too seriously, so we figured that it'd be a good idea to lighten things up. Our key focus here is that you guys can enjoy yourselves! With that said, let me get to the actual season itself.
To begin with, nobody is allowed to apply as a character voiced by Norio Wakamoto, nor as Norio Wakamoto himself. Just getting that out of the way right now.
We hosts (Ravan and Sakuya) will be playing as two Wakamoto deity figures. The players themselves are invited to our game to have a chance at becoming the next character voiced by Norio Wakamoto, a great honour that many would kill for (why'd I make that). If this somehow becomes rather popular and enjoyable, I think we may even be able to do more with it, but we're focusing on the nearby future right now.
The players will be given a variety of tasks to undertake in the form of puzzles and challenges. Now the reason why none of you can apply as a Wakamoto character is made apparent here. There will be a large number of NPCs of characters voiced by Norio Wakamoto that can join a player. These NPCs will offer their insight (or lack of one) in puzzles, and their support in battles or challenges. Naturally they all have different capabilities, but they will remain relevant. You do not require their aid to solve puzzles or complete tasks however, so you don't have to worry about needing one of them to solve something.
Death is most certainly not permanent here, because for one to even be remotely considered to be voiced by the almighty Wakamoto, you must radiate sheer awesomeness and this... somehow prevents you from dying unless it is in a spectacular fashion that none of you are capable of causing. In all seriousness, we will be reviving players as death can bore them due to being unable to contribute to the current events, and dying early can especially cause this. That's not to say that fighting or killing each other even has no rewards, however.
Players that do die will be revived at the Wakamoto Shrine. If your faith is strong enough and you do certain things, you may even find yourself rewarded for your fervor...
There probably will not be a trial system unless players themselves decide to set them up, but they will be pointless. What we were intending on doing is offering a reward for solving puzzles or completing challenges, and fighting allows you to possibly take those rewards away from other people. This way, we're hopefully allowing players to remain open with their playstyles.
There will be an antagonist that will attempt to impede your way of becoming the next Wakamoto voiced character, but there will also be someone that will offer some assistance to compensate as well.
So again, this season is just intended to be a more light-hearted one and hopefully one that everybody may enjoy.
We will of course be adding more things in here as we think more about this, but we figured that we'd give you guys the heads up for it now.
ANY SUGGESTIONS?
