Half the lecture halls are unoccupied during the Hunts, as some professors go into the field to supervise students. The rooms on the ground floor are generally standard classrooms and gymnasiums, while those in the tower are semicircular and generally smaller. Lectures and specialized classes are usually held in the towers while application of what was learned happens in the larger rooms without desks. The professors that stay behind will hold informal lessons for students that decide not to join the Hunt, and some students even use this as a means of getting private lessons. Of course the students in the field can ask similarly of the professors there.
The halls are once again filled, following the end of the hunt.
The lecture halls can be used to increase one's physical or mental prowess, not that it is necessary to train here.
