 If this place was truly razed by the despair group, then we must make out something. The note in the bathhouse says that Aklita cleared the village for the survivors. Although I find it hard to imagine anyone part of an organization called the Despair Group would want to save people. Perhaps The Despair group was what was actually destroyed here, or at least pushed back for the survivors led by Aklita and this Enma person from the note. The note also strongly implies some kind of infection and the locking away of such people in "makeshift cells" which reminds me of our underground abode where we awoke. The skeletons there... they all looked as if they died a slow agonizing death. Perhaps we are among these so called "infected." I have hope though even if this is the truth. He mentions an alchemist and we found a house of one such person on the way here. Perhaps the remnants of this "cure" they were working on remain. We need to investigate this area further before doing something rash and possibly carrying a contagion we know nothing about to the people on the other side of the bridge. |

Anyway we still have the issue of we are possibly infected...
It's most likely due to that that we cannot move across the bridge.
So our main task would be to find something to convince them we're healthy...
The only question is... Is that what we should do? |

Isn't it obvious?
We need to examine the bodies to see what 'infected' is.
Once we do that it shouldn't be too hard to show off that we don't have whatever symptoms plague the infected. |

Personally I care not about whether you people look healthy, I only need to escape here so I can tie up some loose ends. I help you only because "Halisi" is forcing me to. So I'll give my input. Perhaps we should leave some stool near the bridge and allow Aklita to, examine it?

There are no signs of infection as far as I can tell... That ***** is waiting on the other side. I'll cut his throat myself when I get my hands on him...
Ah! Now that I think about it, the mushrooms were growing from dead bodies. Could that be the infection Aklita speaks of?

 We must consider the choice that is just. If we truly are infected then crossing that bridge may doom many more to die. The problem arises in the purpose of this game we are being told to play. A game to kill each other or be the last one standing. And that mysterious path that is still enshrouded in shadows... The second path is where our salvation will most likely be. This game could be engineered for a number of reasons. Here are my thoughts. An infection broke loose and infected many people. A cure was being developed. This cure may in fact be the reason for the game. What other way to ensure the survival of the human race then to take people and place them in a survival of the fittest situation and then grant the winner the cure. This may be because the cure is difficult to make or the ingredients simply to difficult to obtain. I suspect that the cure is likely difficult to make due to the ingredients being located only in areas where the infection has run rampant. The ingredients I speak of.... are the mushrooms we find growing from the dead. The second solution may be that we must recreate the cure before we all perish. At least that will be my goal for now. If anyone has any other ideas then please let me know. I, Bang Shishigami, the Hero of Justice am sure that we will rise to the occasion and conquer the challenge we now face. |
