"There are many ways to view this riddle, both from logical and emotional stand points. The whom implies a singular person. Viewing from the emotional standpoint is probably the only way I can interpret this riddle. In this world there are people who are trapped, be it in a mental prison they constructed for themselves, possibly trapped in a life they resent, despise, a reality where everything is just painted imagery, with nothing to connect to. Running a maze with no sense of direction, this is a person who seeks salvation through being slain. But I'm sure this is the incorrect answer, especially since I didn't any names. I will see myself out with that. Good luck to the remaining folks."
