A paved stone road leads through many Japanese-style arches, into a clearing where a temple-like building stands. Most of the building is made from wood, and looks a little old and dusty. A girl dressed in a red and white costume is sweeping the road leading up to the shrine. She notices you and gives you a wave as you pass by. You can make out brilliantly colored peach and plum trees behind the building. A set of stone stairs leads up to the shrine's entrance. Before the entrance you see a large wooden box. "DONATIONS" is painted on the front in large red letters. The box appears to be empty, and has a few cobwebs in the corners. The doors to the shrine slide open easily, and lead out into the back as well. Inside the shrine, there is a single room with a low wooden table and a futon mattress off to the side. A cabinet rests in the corner. Inside the cabinet is a near-infinite supply of red paper amulets and golden needles. There is a billboard above the table. A single sheet of paper has been pinned to it. Paths lead off from the shrine in many different directions.  Hmm... there are two gods at Moriya Shrine. One is really territorial and doesn't like people intruding. The other is a lot more mature, but she's away most of the time with work. It must be hard being a goddess... |
