Lost-Time Memory
A handful of figures occupy a meeting room left in shambles.
Moss and fungi already ensnare the legs of a table. The table, itself, has a faded shine
A hefty television screen is placed at the head of the table.
Static fills the screen for a moment before a face reveals itself.
【Milk】: "Many sacrifices were made to obtain this information and technology.
You know what this meansーdon't you, Sōichirō?"
Sitting farther down the table, a figure nods.
Sōichirō: "It's been twenty-one years after the beginning of the end, and while some fraction of humanity managed to cling onto the debris of civilization, we've suffered major losses.
For such a devastating milestone, we only have chance to prevent the apocalypse."
The face on the screen nods in compliance before raising four fingers up.
【Milk】: "No timeline is entirely safe from the apocalypse, but they all have the same ignitionーthe four horsemen of the apocalypse:
Economic collapse, the downfall of law and order, death to all agriculture and livestock, and an epidemic.
Less than 0.000000001% of the world's population remains due to these events, and while we cannot prevent this future from our current timeline, it is possible to salvage humanity from another timeline.
With our limited human resources, only you and Hidehito were deemed physically fit enough for this task."
Opposite of Sōichirō, a voice cackles as it slams a fist against the table multiple times. The furniture creeks beneath the force.
Hidehito: "This robot keeps droning on and on, but you're all making it out to be more complex than it should be!
With this whatsmacallit helmet, Sōichirō is able to link himself to a body on the verge of death.
From there, he just needs to somehow keep the host body from dying on him until this Waku Fever Party thing to kill all of the horsemen, and if necessary, then I'm the reinforcement!"
Sōichirō: "All of the horsemen weren't present at Waku Fever Party according to records, though.
The third horseman, Daichi Hata, certainly didn't attend the festivities. I'll likely have to get rid of him before attending the convention.
. . .
Ichirō Tsujimoto, Kihei Minazuki, Daichi Hata, Sakie Nozawaーfor the sake of another future, I'll eliminate them."
Hidehito guffaws at the last statement, earning him a glare from both the television screen and the figure across from him.
Hidehito: "There's no need to get tense, Sōichirō."
He leans in closer to the other man's ear and begins to chide.
Hidehito: "I can't imagine how difficult it may be for someone with a sister complex to have to kill his own sister for the sake of others you've never met.
You can just leave that unfortunate task to me; I'll make her death quick and painless, Atsuo Nozawa."
Fates
Estella
After a series of hostage situations, blackmailing, and kidnapping, Estella eventually met with her husband, Ingram, during the final attraction of Waku Fever Party.
She fought the urge to immediately drag him off stage during his solo performance.
On the last day of Waku Fever Party, she confronted the traitor of the assassins Atsuo/Sōichirō/To, who had became unwilling to complete his mission and eliminate the final horseman.
She killed To and exposed Sakie/Sa-chan to this truth, sending the child into an emotional and mental collapse.
Driven by this state, Sakie Nozawa had decided to stray from her own fate as a horseman by taking her own life.
Mu
Mu had attempted to have the A.I. Mocha realize its own potential, but in her own attempt to do so, she had learned that the other A.I. Milk had proposed for several performers to resort to killing.
She confronted Mocha about this, who in disbelief, broke off their budding friendship.
Three-Oh
He was originally set on spreading the message of his A.I. companion, Ack-20 Liberation Sugar Bear, but as a direct result of confronting Hidehito, who had taken over the corpse of a security guard, the computer that contained Three-Oh's companion broke and was beyond repair.
After witnessing Estella kill To, he remained silent until Sa-chan had shown the intent of taking her life. Being none the wiser, he was unable to prevent the child's death.
Renée
She had decided to occupy the hallway just outside of her room.
She witnessed multiple incidents during her stay, such as a certain ensousha carrying a rather small person over her shoulder and barge into rooms at random.
Depression-chan
This personality immediately latched herself to Estella and attempted to tail her to multiple rooms.
Eventually, Estella had grown irritated of Depression-chan and promptly attempted to choke her. This attempt proved unsuccessful and rather than attacking her immediately, Estella lost all interest and returned to her room.
Depression-chan was disappointed by this outcome and had decided to lie in wait for Estella to return to the same floor. Estella did, but this was a few weeks later; Depression-chan took the initiative, but her sudden assault involving a bellman's cart did not go through as expected.
Her next plan of assault was directed at a female investigator. She performed the same procedure against the investigator and To; both of them were desperately searching for Sa-chan after Estella had ran off with the child. Having lost all hopes of slaughtering people in the middle of this fight, Depression-chan attempted to take her own life, but the investigator was able to deal with the wound before Depression-chan could reach her end.
Irene
Irene had immediately went out into the convention center. With her A.I. Nano, she was able to find a syringe within To's possession and instantly become wary of him.
Logan Paul
Is there really anything worth to note here?
He was excessively towards all girls he interacted in; there were obvious signs of intolerance towards him, but he didn't care.
He had a Rolex watch and a sports car, and to him, these two facts were all that mattered.
Girls Dead Monster
Girls Dead Monster, also known as Iwasawa, had also attempted to educate Mocha about the outside world.
This was after she discovered a few questionable notes in her room that mentioned a S.O.C.I.E.T.Y planーthe final efforts of this timeline to preserve humanity against the apocalypse.
The World's Lifespan and the Last Day
While the general populace has yet to learn, going about their daily lives, and even attending a convention, the world is reaching the end of its lifespan. Forty-seven days, six hours, twenty-four minutes, and eleven seconds: the world’s remaining lifespan as of the start of Waku Fever Party. The end is imminent and unavoidable. While it is possible to develop technology to withstand the “last day,” resources are limited and there is not enough time to find a new world to inhabit. Nonetheless, those aware have still not given up hope.
“Let’s throw the last will of humanity to the future! We can only hope that there is still a world to rebuild by the time they arrive.”
Thus, the Sierra Oscar Charlie India Echo Tango Yankee (S.O.C.I.E.T.Y) Plan came into motion. The “last day” has been estimated to last sixteen years; scientists have appropriately identified those years into four “horses.” Each “horse” will cause devastating damage to modern society. The first “horse”—monopolization—will cause the stock market to turn on its head. The second “horse” is the season of violence. With the expected plummet of the stock market, living conditions will also face a large drop; crime rates are likely to increase as the availability of food and other products shorten. The third “horse” leaves no agriculture or livestock behind with harsh weather conditions, and the fourth “horse” chimes with a worldwide epidemic. By streaming in a proportioned supply of oxygen, water, consumables, and a preserving chemical known as Lyrician into a sealed cryogenic chamber, a person can possibly survive the “last day.
A natural leader, a philanthropist, a problem solver, a protector, and a motivator—with limited supplies, these are the handful that will carry on, even when there is no one left to believe in them. There is only one position left in the S.O.C.I.E.T.Y (Secure One Coveted Irrelevant Eternity for the Thereafter Years) Plan: the motivator. Waku Fever Party, behind the veil of a celebration, is the final selection process to decide the last seat of the S.O.C.I.E.T.Y Plan.
Additional Memory
It was later discovered that the four “horses” could be traced back to four key individuals. These individuals were code-named “horseman.”
A billionaire business owner had consumed several companies in his ever-growing monopoly before passing away with no definite heir, which caused the monopoly to easily absolve, leaving a gap in power.
The second “horseman” is the first person to commit a crime for economic gain as a result of the stock market crash; although this person was found guilty in court, the criminal’s actions had inspired others to do the same. In prison, he eventually gains the title of a mafia boss and continued to control crime from within his cell without a trace.
The third “horseman” is a private landowner, continuing to hire construction workers to build houses in the face of the “last day”; these construction projects begin to create an increase in pollution, even after several factories shut down. The environmental damage caused is devastating.
The fourth “horseman” is, surprisingly, Sōichirō/To’s supposed cousin, Sakie Nozawa; she had shown severe symptoms, but with no diagnosis, her parents had flown her to an overseas hospital, unknowingly spreading the enigmatic disease. When Sōichirō is invited to Waku Fever Party, he had already eliminated the threat posed by the third “horseman.”
