Doujinshi, self-published works, have gained nation-wide support in the past handful of years. At Waku Fever Party, several doujinshi artists and novelists have been permitted to sell their wares in this market place. Each vendor is to maintain their own booth and organize their own goods; the convention receives 30% of the profits made in compensation for providing space and publicity to the vendors. The more provocative works, or any that suggest so, have been shifted towards the back of the market.
