Through out this season you may be attacked, or perhaps you may just want to kill someone.
Killing people is not as simple as just finding them then killing them, what then? This FAQ will cover that.
Fights
These will occur when there are disputes between players and violence is the answer to everything.
These will also occur if a player attacks another player or if a player is defending an attack.
You will take one of these roles when attacked:
- Predator
- Victim
- Bystander
When a fight starts I will move the people involved into a skype chat, from here players will enter phases.
During each phase, a person must private chat me their course of action, it can range from running for the door, blocking an attack, dodging an attack, attacking, running for an object in the room, using an item in the room to your advantage, yes, the room you're in can be altered in your fight.
Here are status effects that can be caused during a fight:
Bleeding: If escaping while bleeding, you will leave a trail of blood in each room you run through. If a fight lasts longer than 5 phases after the bleeding occurs, you will pass out.
Staggered: Can't perform an action for the next phase.
Wounded: Your action will always be applied second meaning the attacker's action will be prioritized over yours.
Countered: The action in the next following phase will heavily be against your favor.
Actions that you perform in a fight are not posted into the chat I move you into, instead they are messaged to me in private on skype, I then collect the other person's action and post them at the same time in the fight chat, here's an example:
NoAir: [3:43 PM] Old sakuya:
<<< i move to the area of the trophy and cover it so he cant get near
[3:44 PM] Makoto [Emil Castagnier]:
<<< Makoto [Emil Castagnier] dodges blow from Sakuya, grabs a plaque and throws it at Sakuya then jumps out the window
Makoto [Emil Castagnier] runs away
NoAir: That right there is a counter to makoto's action
Old sakuya: oh
Old sakuya: so he didnt get me?
NoAir: Yeah
Old sakuya: *sweet
NoAir: you predicted him correctly in his action
This is an example of countered status, in the next phase, Sakuya's action has more influence over Makoto's.
Example:
ok you know what i two hand the spade and stab him in the gut
[3:50 PM] Makoto [Emil Castagnier]:
<<< Makoto [Emil Castagnier] attempts a leg sweep as Sakuya goes in for the attack then grabs a trophy and repeatedly bashes his skull with it
NoAir: Sakuya's stab doesnt impale you, but instead makes a gash on your side due to your evasive move
NoAir: due to the wound you wernt able to sweep saku off his feet
This is an example of wounded, all actions done by makoto in the next following phases would have a second priority to what Sakuya does.
Following the examples, the fight would go on until a person is dead or someone breaks up the fight.
Fights can still go on if someone tries to intervene, so careful, don't be a hero!
Rules when fighting:
- You can only dodge once every other turn.
- You can not predict a person will dodge and attack.
- You can not dodge then attack, these two actions cannot work in a single phase.
- I will review all actions and tell you if it needs correcting.
- Your weight limit does matter in a fight, you can't be holding something then using something in the room that will exceed your limit.
- The setting of the room matters, day time and night time matter.
- You can predict a dodge, but you can't follow up with an action, predicting the dodge will only put them in a countered status.
Tips
- Weapons heavily influence a fight, so it's nice to carry one around.
- While dodging then attacking is not allowed, you can still dodge then perform any other action.
- You can throw things.
- You can yell for help.
- Dodging may have a cooldown, but blocking does not.
- Be specific or I will improvise for you.
Types of fights:
Confrontation: This is when there is no predator or victim. Both people are fully aware they're about to fight.
Preemptive Strike: This is when someone attacks you from hiding, the victim in this fight will always start with the wounded status.
Brawl: This is when there are more than three people involved in a fight.
Ganging up: This is when the fight is at a disadvantage through numbers.
