Hello everybody
I wanted to make this thread to again gauge interest in a season similar to Blood Shift with the repeated revivals system. I just finished a Back Story for this new season in a format similar to the "Story of Blood and A Promise" for Blood Shift. As such I have yet to put together any kind of map or all the rules. Here I will explain the basic concept of the game and then see if people are interested. If enough people are interested I will again make an official Application to host the season. If responses all tend to be really mixed then I will rework the season according to any comments you guys leave. If you guys all say no then please elaborate on why in a post below so I don't get depressed. I am considering allowing someone else to mastermind the season if they wish. I will provide the content and someone else ends up hosting the finished product. If you guys are alright with that or would rather have me masterminding it then please make a post telling me here.
I was told that you guys would prefer me to mastermind it and that has been unanimous, so I will definitely be the mastermind.
Without Further Ado let me present to you the spiritual successor to Season Blood~Shift(This season occurs in the Blood Shift Universe, where on the timeline is for you guys to figure out.)
Season AA(SAA, SA2)
The AA obviously stands for some plot related stuff, but the name is not quite finalized yet so that will be kept a secret for now.
SAA will occur in a strange fort that seems to have fallen straight out of a fairy tale. The fort is large and will consist of many rooms made in a similar format to Blood Shift rooms. There will be no rotating doorways or changing of pathways like in Blood Shift though. The exact size of the map is yet to be determined.
The Concept of this game, like Blood Shift, is that revivals are commonplace. I will revive all players based on in game events, occurrences, or even my own whims. There will be a system in place similar to Blood Punishments to force players to worry about death in that they will not just escape scott-free for dying. The exact name of this system is TBD.
The catch of this season is going to be that "someone" has ONLY ONE life to live. If this person dies then it closes off one of the main routes to victory. This WILL be one of the players.
On the reverse side of this, "someone's" only goal is to wipe the person who has one life to live off the map. This WILL be one of the players.
Nobody but the mastermind will know who has one life to live and who wants to kill them. NOT EVEN THE TWO PLAYERS WILL KNOW.
The Mastermind can and will be murdering you for pleasure, HOWEVER, the mastermind will NEVER take the one life of the player who only has one.
There will be motives for people to kill each other ignoring the previous rules, but don't go expecting the True End or the Evil End if you ignore the ones above.
The next change is to trials and arguing about the main plot. I am removing the Verbal Bullet System in its entirety as it tends to give everyone tunnel vision about what is important and bullets tend to condemn people without anyone actually putting together what happened. As such I have a new system in place to replace verbal bullets.
(This idea was inspired by Umineko, which I read in preparation for Air's Season. I really want some feedback on this so please tell me what you think.)
Season AA's arguments will revolve around two things. The Red Truth and the Blue Theory. When a player presents a theory about what they think occurred or are making a conjecture or assumption, it MUST be in Blue. When a player presents an undeniable fact, it MUST be in Red. If a Red Truth is acceptable then it is completely undeniable, similar to verbal bullets. You must theorize with Blue and counter Blue Theories with Red Truths. The catch is that I won't tell you whether a fact can be considered a Red Truth. You will have to use your own logic to determine what undeniable fact negates a Blue Theory. If you post something as a Red Truth that turns out to be false then I will attack the person who made the incorrect assumption. This won't result in the player's death the first time, but I will eventually kill players who fail the Red truth too often.
Here is an Example of Blue Theory and Red Truth:
Player A Posts: "Eclipse killed Alice!"
Player B Posts: "Wrong, Eclipse has an Alibi for the Time of Death!"
A player proposes a theory and/or claim, but with the absolute Red truth that Eclipse has an alibi means the Theory must be false.
If someone tries to make a Red Truth that directly implies the killer and/or something that you are simply trying to weed info out of the mastermind based on if I deny it, then I will Kill the player who used the Red Truth and I will not revive them for a time. Regardless of the truth or falsity of the Red Truth, "Eclipse is the Killer!" is not an acceptable statement and I will punish people attempting to abuse the system for freebie information.
If it turns out that either Blue or Red Truths are being used in excess then I will split times and force players to only use one of the two during specific times.
Applications require a
Name
Character Image(optional)
SHSL Title
What Killed You?*
Character personality(A paragraph or a quote describing your character is satisfactory for this. I just need a basic understanding of what kind of person you are playing as.)
*What Killed You: This is a unique addition to this Season and while I haven't made something akin to blood weapons for this season yet, this is the next special thing. In this section please tell me how your character took a fatal injury. It cannot be instant death as your body must make it to the hospital or I have plot holes. Examples include: Hit by a car/truck/train, Attacked by a rabid Cat/Dog/Rabbit/etc., Mugged by Thraxinator, and whatever else your can come up with your imaginations.
There is obviously a whole lot more I want to work out about the Season, but as of now these are the major points I wanted to hit. If you guys have a stance then please vote in the poll. If you have suggestions or comments please post below so that I may make edits where I need to or adjust things based on player response.
