The Discord Migration

Greetings everyone! Eclipse here to announce our upcoming move to Discord. For a very long time we have run games through Skype and held our daily interactions there, but after getting people's opinions, the overwhelming majority want to abandon the Skype ship.

For those who are unaware of why this is begin done I will do a quick summary. Since we started using Skype, the updates and upgrades to Skype have steadily made the experience of our users worse. This has continued to the point where people are refusing entirely to use Skype as well as cannot due to system issues. This trend looks like it will continue, so we agreed that moving to Discord, a service that is more friendly as it updates, was the best option.

Now, plenty of you are wondering how we are going to handle the migration. Luckily this is fairly simple. My intent is to provide a Discord link to the new MMG Server. However... There are many of our members who do not regularly check Skype or the forum, so I will be relying on those here to directly send the link I provide to any whom fall into that category.

I will be providing that link within the next few days, in another thread on this announcements board and through repeated posting into the Skype Chat itself.

I do not intend to shut down the Off Topic Skype Chat for some time. My intent is to run a season on Discord and once it completes and things are fine, I will officially close the Skype off topic. SO, if you have a reason why this may be an issue, please let me know as soon as possible! Please let me know if you have any questions regarding the migration either as my goal is for this to be as smooth as possible!

Also! I intend to update the Skype Rules on the forum and replace them with the Discord Rules! The rules will likely be extremely similar and I'll just be putting the Discord logo instead of the skype one, but just so everyone is aware.
