About
You wake up with dust in your mouth. Your throat is dry and a raging headache. Coughing weakly, you slowly get up.
A massive earthquake, rating 9.3 on the richter scale struck an island far out in the ocean. This island just happened to be the location of a newly opened mine. The mine, of course, collapsed. You're part of a rescue team put together to help out this mine's workers, as well as the locals who call this island home. They're truly a strange folk. All of their customs revolve around avoiding one thing: Bloodshed. It is a rule strictly laid upon those who enter the island as well. No blood is the be spilled on this island.
As all of you begin your work in the mines, digging out rubble, looking for survivors, another huge tremor strikes.
Looking around you, it's just rubble. The area you were searching in has completely collapsed. You have a few days rations with you and a bottle of water. Now what?
Rules
Standard movement ... and that's all that is standard. Most everything else is quite different.
First, everyone will start in a different location. Second, there will be no contact between players for at least the first half of the season. Which means that all of you will actually have to play alone. There may npcs, and finally, there is something else in the mines with you.
Due to the nature of not seeing eachother for the first half, and even potentially for more, trials will work a little differently. Most of the trials will take place at the tail end of the season, right at the very end. And this is assuming that there is something to suspect for murder. There might not even be a trial if no one can find the body. As such, trials will only happen in certain very specific situations. In order to not trivialize murder: murder does not win you the game. Going around murdering people without a motive is not allowed. Don't worry, those bloodthirsty will find reasons. But, this lack of drastic and immediate repercussion should give people without much confidence much more reason and leeway to murder.
So allow me to give you some advice: There will be motives or people to kill you. If you find someone else, I would advise no to trust them. Keep your eye on them at all times. Don't ever turn your back to them. I will be giving you in game reasons to distrust each other as well. Should make for some fun tension. So, how does one murder? Well it will typically result in a fight (which I am excited for) or you need to think of a clever way to incapacitate someone. Either make them trust you, or do some other shenanigans.
Now, I will also be giving each character some specific backstory and goals. You will have your own motives. In the application (you'll probably want to pm this part to me) I will be asking whether or not you prefer murderous or story. So ... if you can I would prefer those who sign up to actually participate
Character Requirement
Human. As "normal" as possible please. However, if you want to be weird, I'll just put it as cosplay and move on. Gods will be nerfed to the floor so on and so forth. You will have no special powers here. You're all regular human beings, with the skillset of a rescue operator. Aka: basic first med etc.
Victory Condition
1. Escape the mines!
2. Fulfill your character specific goal!
Hosting Times:
Due to college, and forever changing schedules, this completely depends on when I finish the actual map for the season. I can easily do weekends and most weekdays I should have time to host. Depends.
Special Notes
I request to be a Third Star Mastermind for this season given all these rule changes.
I made this season the way it is for several reasons. First: I noticed when I was hosting that people tend to move as groups. Also they tend to afk. I honestly didn't really like that. It's very annoying for almost anyone involved. People also literally attached their afk bodies to someone. There was also a lot of sharing and talking outside of the actual game itself.
This time .... good luck with that. You're alone. For almost the entire season. And you can't trust anyone.
Second, I based the whole backstory thing on Season TF. I loved that season and it was honestly the most fun I personally have had with a season since blood shift. The whole backstory gave me another thing to work for as well as being interested in the story. It gives me different objectives as well as different relationships with people in the game. This combined with the sheer amount of paranoia you will feel toward other players should hopefully give this game a unique feel.
Finally: Again I'm giving each person who signs up a special back story and objectives. I would greatly appreciate it if you guys didn't quit right in the middle as it's going to take a lot of time to write it. However, this is without knowing my own schedule. As such I'll be opening up applications after I know exactly when I will be able to host. Do not sign up if you won't play. Seriously. I'll be mad.
