NOTE: THIS MINIGAME LASTS UNTIL A SEASON IS READY OR UNTIL CONTENT IS DEPLETED.
NOTE: THIS IS NOT A SEASON.
Rules:
Non-standard MMG rules.
This game includes only fights.
There is no map. Murders are not permitted. Any plot found isn't intended to be plot. It can be used for RP material, if need be. I may or may not humor the story you guys make. RP threads exist outside of boss fights. Turn layout will be compiled and submitted in a thread at the end of each day featuring a fight.
Gimmicks:
Fights are done the old-fashioned way, with a few additions. The old fight system had each participant list their actions during the same timeframe in a phase, then the host calculated the result and reported the outcome. The changes made to this system are:
-Pre-Phases: This is a sub-turn, in which the player can swap equipped items or use certain skills. After this part of the turn, the players move to the Main Phase, where the players do all their fighting and moving. Then the cycle repeats as is needed.
Turn (Pre >>> Main >>> BB Gain) >>> Turn
Pre (Input >>> Calc)
Main (Input >>> Calc)
Turns will take fewer actions than some fights, so don't send paragraphs unless they're meticulous in how they're executed. Examinations are generally free actions, unless stated otherwise. Movement and actions are differentiated. Movement involves all actions that change a player's placement on an arena, such as jumping, walking, and climbing. Actions are generally considered attacking, equipping, and using skills.
-Battle Bullet (abbrev. BB): Players will have skills. However, they cost a resource, which is, of course, BB. Each participant gains one BB at the end of each turn, unless stated otherwise. Skillsets can be linear, but have a large number of skills, or they can all cost a similar number, but be fewer. Skillsets are five-to-eight skills long. Some bosses will have gimmicks that twist this system, but nonetheless, they're still built on the BB system. Each boss will come with an additional set of skills that players can use, in case if their skills are useless for certain fights. Some bosses may lock players out of their own skills, so beware. Each player can make requests to have changes made to their skill list throughout the game.
-Card Code (abbrev. CC): Certain bosses will test another battle gimmick I want to try. Skills will be adapted into cards. Players will not be able to use this system, but some bosses will have it for testing purposes.
Fights, once a system gets going, should occur every other day. The first couple of fights or so will not allow players to use their own skills. This is to both test the innate skills from bosses and to give time to properly develop skillsets that are tailored to each player. It is recommended, but not mandatory, to keep your skills secret, as I may have all players fight among themselves to test fights between players, as it is a common job hazard. Boss scheduling will generally have one boss available on that day, to be fought in multiple groups of players. This is to artificially extend the minigame and to gain more data on bosses and fights.
The first fight's beginning day will be tallied in a separate thread (to be voted on). It will be announced in chat once the thread is made. Each boss will be announced at the end of a day featuring a fight.
Scheduling:
Fights will occur either in the mornings or afternoons during Sun. through Thurs. This is because of my work shift. Fri. and Sat. will be available for either the morning or the afternoon, but evenings will also be available. Please state your preference in an upcoming scheduling thread.
NOTE: THIS MINIGAME LASTS UNTIL A SEASON IS READY OR UNTIL CONTENT IS DEPLETED.
NOTE: THIS IS NOT A SEASON.
Apps:
Please include the following:
In the thread:
1) Name (If you use a character from a pre-existing source, please give the source, so that I may research said character)
2) Written Description/Linked or Uploaded Image
3)Preferred Title (This is for flavor)
Recommended in PMs, but available in the thread:
1) Preferred fighting style
2) Preferred BB tree layout (between linear and branching)
3) Preference in using the character's own skills or having a skillset based on the player (Beware of using skills that are spoilerific. I myself don't care about spoilers, but have consideration for other players when you note the skills you want. Also note that some skills may be nerfed from the source material or even after a fight, if it is deemed problematic)
Example:
Name: Pocky
Image: [IMAGE GOES HERE]
Title: Destroyer of Love and Youth
Fighting Style: Aggro. Quick and eye-catching. Fast and light, with low damage
Tree Layout: Branching
Skillset Basis: Player-based
