"Seeing how Echo was the first to respond to the screaming, Echo will say what she had found. Someone made a hole in Roy's roof for the rope to hang from. Echo had cut the knot in an attempt to save Roy, but it was too late. There is a beach chair behind the hut that the culprit had used to climb on the roof.
Echo believes Roy had screamed from being stabbed in the hand and then kicked in the stomach to stop him. Roy was then dragged to his hut and used to open the door. Roy's clothing and the pool tube may have been used in the dragging process. After getting in the hut, the murderer hung Roy from the noose and made their escape. There was about ten minutes from the first scream to when Echo arrived, so the murderer had been moving quite fast.
Echo would like to ask Yuuki to give his testimony, seeing how he had been standing around the elevator entrance for quite a while and should have seen the culprit passing."

-Albert bursts onto the stage-
"This trial is completely illegitimate!"
"There is no motive for anyone to murder on this island, including Roy. We have no proof that Roy is dead, there is the possibility of Roy playing dead, or faking his death. Additionally, we cannot rule out the possibility of this being one of Poseiden's tricks! The unusual storm on the boat and throwing us into a pitch black void were things done by the same person who is responsible for bringing us to the island! If that person can create an unusual storm and throw all of us into a void, it is easily possible that they can create a fake murder as well!"
"There is clearly an ulterior motive at work here. The stipulation of Roy's death has no meaning as long as we are under the supervision of this mysterious entity I dub Poseiden. I demand that Poseiden reveal themselves and give us a clear explanation as well as proof of their abilities! I also demand that Poseiden reveal the motive behind this trial, otherwise there is no point in us arguing here if it only serves to benefit the entity called Poseiden!"
"I rest my case."
-Albert departs-

-Pebble looks around and smirks a little-
"Come now Albert, no need to be like that. Lets just add its probably to our benefit to determine the culprit. Even if it does end up being Poseidon. I'd much rather walk through a swamp I can see through than one I can't."
-Pebble lets loose a dry chuckle-
"I really don't appreciate the distractions from enjoying myself. Instead of breathing the ocean air and collecting seashells I get to collect evidence and smell naught but death. I'd like to bring this to a swift conclusion, leave to culprit to be eaten by a metaphorical kraken and get back to the beach."
"Echo, can you please confirm the status you found Roy in? It sounds like he was being hanged when you found him yes?"
"I disagree with your order of events. The screwdriver was driven through Roy's hand after the Noose was placed around his neck and used."
"I base this point on the observation that the injury did not bleed significantly, indicating his heart stopped during or prior to wound being inflicted. Roy died by asphyxiation. He would have to be choked for at least some time for his heart to stop thus indicated the noose's use prior to the screwdriver."

"Yes, Roy had been hanging when Echo found him. Echo did not actually enter the hut until after the investigation allowed access, so Echo only saw his body from the hole in the roof after she cut the knot. Technically speaking, Echo did not see him hanging but she saw him laying on the floor after a thud.
If that was the case then Roy had been choked to death and stabbed in the hand prior to being dragged into the cabin. It is unlikely that he would be able to scream if he had been choked from the start, so maybe he was kicked first or noticed the assailant before being attacked...
From Echo's investigations Vinny, Sam, and possibly Ryuuji can be ruled out as culprits. Neko, ??, and Hoshiyo are either in hiding or fell asleep in the elevator. Echo would like to say everyone aside from those three are also in the clear, but Echo's evidence is questionable and Echo does not wish to reveal her method yet."

"My main concern with the screwdriver is that the act seems like a....very poor decision for opening a planned murder. The only realistic scenario where the screwdriver is the first injury would be if Roy attempted to defend himself and ending up blocking the screwdriver with his bare hand. I mean, why would you open by initially trying to stab someone's hand with a screwdriver? Not only is that a difficult target, but wholly ineffective at killing someone. So if the killer opened with a stab attack, that seems like they intended to just kill Roy outside and leave but ended up failing."
"But if Roy was stabbed after being choked/hanged then we have to rethink things. I propose that Roy was hit in the stomach as an initial blow. Then, the killer used the rope wound as a noose and essentially lasso'ed Roy using the period where they were stunned to get in position. They then dragged him by the rope into his hut. During this period Roy recovered from the initial blow and tried to free himself, he used something to try and cut the rope off of his neck, as indicated by some damage to the rope on the inside edge that was pressed against Roy's throat. The damage appears to have been dealt by some blunt object that was only slightly sharp enough to damage the rope. I believe during these frenzied struggles Roy screamed out before eventually running out of breath. I also suggest that Roy had the screwdriver initially and tried to use it on the rope, it was later the killer took it from them and used it on them. Everything after they are inside the hut is most likely to clean up their crime and mis-direct the investigation."
"Thoughts?"

-Pebble sighs-
"I had hoped this to be a pleasant discussion and debate instead of my just declaring my suspicions. Time runs short so I'll just get to the point."
"Echo, I accuse you of murdering Roy. I base this accusation on one critical item and three observations related to it. I present this in argument form so anyone can debate with it as they please."
"The critical item is... The Rope that was used on Roy to choke him and drag him while he struggled. Whether it killed him or not is irrelevant, just that it was used on him and the killer choked him while he struggled."
"The Rope is the critical piece of evidence linking the culprit to this crime. I will link it with the following three points."
"First, The Rope is frayed and damaged at the points where it had intense rubbing against Roy's neck. A similar effect would occur if the rope rubbed strongly on anything in fact."
"Second, The Rope has several portions frayed in such a manner. The bit around Roy's neck, and the area just up from the Noose. An excellent place to hold the rope if one where pulling on something held in the noose. This is beneath the cut that is visible above that Echo claims to have done to cut down Roy."
"Third, I examined the hands of everyone I could locate for any sign of interacting with the rope. The only person that I found with fragments of frayed rope on their hands was Echo."
"Based on these points, I state that the person who held the rope and choked out Roy was Echo. Everything else dealing with this crime, the clothes, the screw driver, the hole in the ceiling, the chair out back, the popped tube, his clothes, and etc have no importance in declaring the culprit. The only fact that matters is the Rope killed Roy and the Rope's user was Echo."
"I hope you have an excellent reason for those rope bits Echo. Also, I know you and Sam both have dust and dirt on your hands as well, but Sam lacks the rope bits, so don't use whatever you two were doing as an excuse."

"Sorry, umm... Pebble, was it? But I disagree that, if this murder is real, Echo is the culprit. Echo could have easily gotten rope on their hands during the investigation by touching the rope, and your evidence doesn't account for people who are hiding."
"Allow me to present my lead. You see, while I was examining Roy's clothing, I noticed there is a piece torn off of Roy's shirt. I propose that during the struggle, the culprit accidentally tore Roy's shirt and a piece of Roy's clothing is stuck to them. However, given that you couldn't find anyone with frayed rope on their hands, it is also likely that the culprit is in hiding."

"I will concede about that scrap of clothing that was torn off, I examined his clothes and learned as much. I should mention that I examined everyone at the crime scene and huts. None of them had rope bits on their hands except Echo. If all the investigators did, I would back off without issue. I don't see any reason for an investigator to specifically get even more rope on their hands. I still would like to hear Echo's explanation before dropping my accusation."

"Echo is not sure when she got bits of rope on her hand, but perhaps it was when she cut the rope. Echo was also the second or third person to discover the body, so it is unlikely that she was the murder.
Seeing how the murderer would probably clean themselves now, Echo will reveal what she had been investigating. Echo has basically searched every open location on the island for someone hiding or discarded items and not found any. The knife used for the hole was likely the one from the resort and still on the culprit at the moment. Echo suspects that they have a hiding ability. Echo had also been checking everyone for their feet size, as the prints at scene are average."

I AM THE GREAT AND POWERFUL REIMU-
Why was I even summoned here.. I've been asleep since the elevator first opened. The first thing I did was go right to bed, when I awoke, I decided to explore a bit. This was well before any body discovery was made, I just looked around a few islands and.. Well, let's just say things paused again. I went into the corner and went back to sleep.
Why.. Is there even a murder? Are you people really that simple minded to just murder just because some guy tells you too..? We have some weird powers, we could have easily worked through a peaceful solution.. Where's my tea..

"The Vinny Lord has something to say. After the scream happened, I went to the area where it was and saw the blood trail. So I made an even louder scream to attract more attention! Echo got there right before me, and was heading to check out Roy's Hut while holding a katana! As for the knife being taken from the Resort, Vinny has a suspect! Before I found that the knife was missing, I noticed that the weird person in a white mask was already done with checking out the Resort and were leaving. I suspect they took the knife!"

"Ufu... Uf-fu-fu... What are you even trying to achieve here? Of course it was a suicide. Roy made a scream, stabbed his hand, ran into his room and then hanged himself on a rope. The small amount of blood is because of the screwdriver remained in his hand not taken out."

"It seems that there is no longer any point to examining wood shavings as the culprit would have been tipped off from the comments before. Echo would like to ask that masked person why they have blood on their pants."

"How about you stop this meaningless effort? The victim surely died after Echo and others arrived before victim's Hut. Surely there is no true culprit or murderer, just a poor boy sick of living. Surely there was no struggle with true culprit and nobody got injured in it. When the Hut was opened for investigation, surely there was nobody except for dead boy. Surely nobody hid behind a certain opened inwards door for whole time since the body was found and until they were dragged here for trial voting. This was all just a poor accident."
