I'll add my own findings to this matter then.
There is a blood trail that begins from Edgar's body before decreasing as it leads farther and farther away. This blood trail continues on until the chapel on the third floor of this castle. As it is unlikely for the blood trail to thin out the farther it was from the body if the body, itself, was dragged, the blood trail leading away from the body was left behind by the culprit as he or she fled from the scene. Given how many stab wounds the victim had, it would only be natural for some of the blood to have flown onto the culprit. This explains as to why none of the sinks near the crime scene, according to Kanade, appeared to have been used as the culprit did not bother to wipe the blood off immediately after Edgar was killed.

Why then, did the blood trail eventually end?
I suppose that relates to the missing banner from the chapel, or at least, the ashes located where the ritual altar is. When I checked the ashes in the ritual altar, I had found scraps of fabric, although they were mostly unidentifiable due to the fact that they were burned.
Must we really go over the dangers of arson again after what happened in the mansion?
This is my own assumption, but when the murderer ran upstairs to the chapel, he or she must have realized, at some point, the droplets of blood that followed. The murderer then took one of the banners located in the chapel and used it to wipe off the remaining blood. The culprit then proceeded back to the ritual altar to burn the banner, most likely with one of the several candles located in said room.

This is what I believe to be the killer's method of escape, although I may be simply babbling to myself at this point."

"One Yuno Gasai has been found guilty, and will be executed forthwith. Guards, bring in the culprit!"

-You see a bunch of vampire soldiers dragging Yuno into the courtroom. She is brought up onto the center stand and archers all around raise their crossbows at her-

"If you have any last words, speak them now or forever hold your silence~"

Yuno Gasai, young without a hint of sympathy in her eyes, looks around the courtroom with no signs of regret or even acknowledgement of doing anything wrong.


"The only thing there even is to say, is that....-"


It was then that Yuno was interrupted, and killed.

-Suddenly a ghostly Hidematsu stabs one of the vampire soldiers, and the others immediately shoot arrows at her. Several miss and hit Yuno instead, who dies instantly. There is a huge commotion and soldiers start swarming everywhere-
