Setting
Season Soul takes place at a mansion in the middle of a large forest. Inside the mansion, a laboratory has been built by a professor named Stein for the sake of conducting a secret experiment known only to its participants as the Soul Project. Stein requires a lot of help, and so he has anonymously contacted many people with the location of his mansion, and gathered those who decided to help there.

Rules
This season will follow the general rules of MMG, with the following changes.
Murders - In order to murder, you need to have either a Directive to commit a murder, or a legitimate motive to murder. i.e. Someone knocked you out and stole all of your possessions. Motive legitimacy will be decided by the mastermind.
Trials – Trials in this season will use the Colored Truth System. Whenever a body has been found, a trial will be held between the players. This trial is a discussion and will not interrupt a player’s activities. In the trial, the player must convince whatever authority figure is in the area (i.e. professor Stein) about the culprit’s identity. Once the culprit has been deduced, the authority figure will give a suitable punishment. This means hard evidence is not the only way to convict a player in trial. Motives are also a valid point of argument. If a culprit has a convincing enough motive, the authority figure may lessen or even repeal the punishment that has been given. Murders may occur while a trial is in progress. If this happens, the results of that murder will be incorporated into the current trial, and both murders will be discussed at the same time. Murders cannot occur during designated investigation time. If an authority figure dies, trials will stop occurring in the area where they were positioned. All authority figures may freely use Verbal Bullets and Flume Bullets.
Directives – Directives are tasks you can discover in a variety of ways, such as talking to NPCs or examining items. Completing some directives will grant you special items, privileges, or information. Completing a specific directive will also have the effect of advancing the story along a certain path. Directives will be stated outright to a player once they have found the appropriate trigger for it, i.e. "Directive - Help the professor find a screwdriver", however, some directives will have many conditions required for their completion, and will have multiple steps associated with them, i.e. "Directive - Murder X while wearing a bear costume with a blunt weapon while at least 1 witness is watching. In trial, attempt to blame the death on a wild bear and call for a no-vote."
Players will also have the option to turn this mechanic off and on as they wish, if they want to make the game more challenging. However, directives for key story changes will always be stated once a player has found the necessary trigger(s). Once certain directives have been found, certain other directives may be unable to be acquired. If a player wishes to reject a direction, they may express a strong disagreement with the directive they have received and refuse to complete it. In this case, the directive will be erased.
Traits – Traits are special abilities given to players depending on their character’s personality. Each player will receive a Soul Trait at the beginning of the game. This trait is tied to the player’s soul, which means it won’t disappear even after the player dies. Additional traits can be acquired through a number of other means.
NPCs – There are several different NPCs in this game, and all NPCs should be treated as if they were players. NPCs can murder, participate in trial, and may even possess traits. Killing an NPC will be treated as a murder, and a trial will occur.
Soul Movement – A player does not disappear after they die. Instead, they become a disembodied soul and pass on to the afterlife… or do they? Soul Movement will be unlocked after a certain stage of the game. If you die before then, please wait patiently until Soul Movement becomes available.
