Season Quadric Contention will follow the general rules of MMG with the following changes.
Character Selection
You will not be able to create your own character for Quadric Contention. Instead you must choose from a pool of premade characters, all of which will be illustrated by our talented MMG player Kleara. These characters are all "gods" with a powerful set of special abilities. Abilities can be broken down as follows:
Resurrection - Gods cannot die. If your god dies at any point in time during the game, they will automatically resurrect at a different location without their items. (Resurrection may be delayed until the body is found by enough people)
Archetype - A god's archetype is the physical manifestation of their power. Archetype abilities directly create, manipulate, and essentially do things. A brief description of each god's archetype will be available during applications so you can have a general idea of what abilities the god you choose will possess.
Omniscience - Normally every god has the ability to instantly know whatever they want, whenever they want. However, in the facility the game is taking place, the mastermind has installed countermeasures so that omniscience is not as effective. Omniscience abilities are information-gathering abilities with various degrees of power.
Divine Weapon - Every god has an extremely powerful weapon or item they use in tandem with their abilities to do battle. However, just like how the facility has countermeasures limiting a god's omniscience, each god's weapon is unable to materialize within the facility. It may be possible to assemble your god's divine weapon again within the facility, but who knows how difficult it could be. Divine weapons will weigh twice as much for gods who do not have ownership over them. Furthermore, if a divine weapon is not in any god's possession, the weapon's owner can instantly summon it to them at any time.
Bounded Field - A bounded field is similar to a god's private realm. Within your god's bounded field, your god will be able to use their full power regardless of the limiting effects of the area you're in. You can also do certain logistical things on a bounded field due to having unlimited power, just ask the mastermind about it. Your god can instantly summon their divine weapon within their bounded field regardless of whether you've assembled it or not, but it will disappear if you have not assembled it when you exit the bounded field. All other gods within your god's bounded field will be restricted by the zone, and the effects of their divine weapons will be weakened. Conjuring a bounded field can be done at any time, and every other god in the same room will be forced into it. However, if your god dies on their own bounded field, they will die permanently. A bounded field will only last for a fixed period of time, and after that time is over, the bounded field will disappear and your god will be left in a vulnerable state. And until your god recovers from this state, they can also be killed permanently. There may be ways to force gods into summoning their bounded fields in the game. (Another god that dies on your god's bounded field will still resurrect) A bounded field will have the same physical attributes as the room you conjured it in.
*new* A bounded field will last for 5 minutes. Afterwards, the god who used the bounded field will be left in a weakened state for the next 3 hours and will be unable to use their bounded field. Additionally, when a god is on any bounded field, they will lose their weakened state if they were in one previously.
Combat System
Combat will take place inside various rooms within the facility, all of which will be given a size using a grid system. One square on a grid is 1 square meter (effectively 1 square yard), so a 10x10 grid room is 10m by 10m. Your grid location at the start of a fight will be randomized based on your relative position to other players in the same room, unless you were at a specific location in the room beforehand.
Gods all have the same body limitations, and each god has effectively unlimited stamina, so unless a god's limbs are broken, they can continue to fight without rest for a very long time. Battles will conclude when all gods on one side have been knocked out or killed.
Map Zones
There will be several zones on the map, each with an ability level limit. While you are inside a zone, you cannot use abilities with levels higher than the zone's level limit. Passive abilities are under the same restriction, they will not activate unless you are in a zone with the appropriate level limit. You can check which zone you are in by looking at the board name at the top left. The zone number will also be listed in the room thread. Note that zones may not correspond to aggregated physical locations on the map.
Each zone on the map will have a maximum vacancy. Every time a person dies within the zone, the vacancy will decrease (if a zone has a vacancy of 10 and 3 people die in the zone, the vacancy will decrease to 7). You cannot enter a zone if the vacancy limit has been reached. Please notify the mastermind when you change zones. Some zones, such as the rest zone, have no maximum vacancy, so even if all zones drop to 0 vacancy, you will still be able to exist on the map.
Room Restrictions
Certain rooms on the map will have special effects, in which case you must follow the instructions in parenthesis that are included below the room description. Sometimes you will also see a link followed by parenthesis. This means that unless you have a means or an ability to bypass to restriction of entering the room in the link, you cannot use that link. For example, a room link that says "To Living Room (High)" means that the entrance to the living room is located very high up, and you need some kind of equipment to climb up to it, or an ability that allows you to fly up to it. Ask the mastermind if you are uncertain whether you can enter a certain room or not.
Objectives
Other than the standard objectives to win the game, all gods will have special objectives that may involve specific locations on the map, or interacting with other specific gods. All objectives will have a series of steps associated with them, and when you meet the requirements necessary for the objective, the next step will be revealed. This will continue until the end of the objective.
