You all hear as a loud noise comes over the intercom along with a lot of static before it finally clears.
"Um...is this thing working? Oh! I think it is! Um...well...my name is Xavier. Xavier Higgs. I've been watching you guys on the security feed. I didn't even know that there were still people down here! So...wait. It says here that...oh. Oh my. You probably don't remember me then. In any case, some pretty bad things have happened since you guys were frozen. Do not freak out but pretty much everyone was brutally murdered. So, yeah. There is also this thing loose in the facility. There were some complications with The Atlantis Project...but I won't bore you with the details. Just know that it is unwise to try to fight it. Our security staff tried that and well, they ended up in pieces. So, if you are unlucky enough to come in contact with it, hide as soon as possible. Remain calm and hide until it passes. It generally only does a quick glance over the room and goes for more obvious things. Oh, and if you hear static, it means it is near. So, to recap, once you hear the static, hide and wait for it to pass. Then you can go about your business. Once it leaves it usually just goes back to its nest for a while...usually. Now, onto the more pressing matter of how we are getting out of here. I am currently holed up in Iota, but it is locked down tight. Well, I mean it is where we found the thing, so it was one of the first sites they shut down. Anyways, I need you to help me and I will do the same for you. Site Alpha is where the elevator to the surface is. Once we reach it we will be home free. Just-"
Static comes over the intercom again and Xavier's voice fades out before being overtaken by another.
"Don't listen to him. There is a far easier way out of here. My name is Alexander Michaels. I have found a way to get us out of here with ease. All you have to do is murder someone. I know, it sounds crazy, but it feeds off of murder. When someone is murdered in the facility, it's almost like a natural sedative for it. I guess it must put it at peace or something. After murdering one person, it starts to ignore you and will rarely try hunting you down. After the second time, he will ignore you completely. Now, you may be wondering how I know that killing people has this effect on it. Simple. I accidentally did it. When this place was falling apart, I panicked. At first, there was a woman who had been badly injured and was in a lot of pain. I knew that she wasn't going to make it and so did she. So, I did what she wanted and gave her a mercy killing. Once that happened, it was like the monster lost interest in me. Then, further on, I was attempting to escape the facility when a coworker and I ended up near the top of the lift in Iota. It came and we had nowhere to hide. So, we backed up to the railing. If one of us didn't do something, we were both going to die. So, I pushed him over the edge of the railing. After he died, the monster went away and didn't bother me at all. Unfortunately, the exit also became impossible to reach and so now I'm holed up in the communications center. It was how I was able to take over the intercom system. That Xavier guy must have the mobile control device that allows him to broadcast from Iota, but I have access to the main broadcasting. Of course, I won't be able to block him out entirely. But before I go, I will tell you this; if you manage to kill two people, you will be able to walk through this facility without it following you. That is the only way to make sure we escape intact and ensure that it doesn't get to the surface. Once you do this, I will try to do an override on the current lockdowns. I should be able to get you close enough to me to where we can both escape this. This is the only way."
"What? No! That's insane! Listen, if any of you commits murder down here, I will shut down the entire facility long enough to hold some sort of make-shift trial. We can't start stabbing each other in the backs. Sure it may be the easy way out, but if we work together we can all escape this. Please. Do not listen to him. Listen, the tunnel to Beta it is currently open. I need you there anyways. It is the thermo site. It is what this place runs on. After the attacks, it started to fall into ruins; it is pretty self-sufficient but it does require some maintenance. If it fails, we can erase any hope of escaping out of the picture. I'm going to unlock the reception area for you. I...I have to go. I hear the static coming! Good luck!"
With that, the intercom let out a loud noise before turning off.
