Setting
Quadric Induction is held in an intermediary area with many Warp Gates connecting to several worlds of which players can enter. Each world will have unique mechanics that correspond to the season from which they are based. In addition, certain world mechanics will be present on every world that is connected to from the gates.
World Mechanics
These are mechanics that are present in every world players may come across.
Items – These can be carried through the intermediary area and the warp gates and can be freely transported between worlds.
NPCs – These are characters that exist outside of players. These characters will effectively function as players, with their own inventories, special abilities, etc. but will be controlled by the mastermind. These characters are able to murder players, and can be murdered by players. Different sets of NPCs may exist on different worlds.
Trials – Trials will be held on every world, but will not be held in the intermediary area. Different trial mechanics may apply on different worlds, with world mechanics regarding trials being present on every world.
Inquisition Bullets – When used, you must post in blue. Inquisition bullets are either questions directed towards the players and NPCs, or theories provoking a response. These can be used in trial to gather information from players and NPCs. Questions in blue can be responded to with either Testament Bullets or Verbal Bullets. Theories in blue must be responded to with Verbal Bullets. If a theory has not been denied by a verbal bullet by the end of the trial, that theory will be used for the conclusion. If multiple theories have not been denied, a vote will be held. The vote does not necessarily have to include all the suspects mentioned in the theories.
Verbal Bullets – When used, you must post in red. Verbal bullets are pieces of truth a player can gather from investigations on a world. Verbal bullets can be used in any trial on the world they came from, although some may become invalidated after a given period of time (such as after the trial they’re related to expires). In addition, you may create your own verbal bullets with evidence you have found, although this requires approval from the mastermind.
Flume Bullets – When used, you must post in green. Flume Bullets are pieces of truth a player has gathered from outside of the world the trial is taking place on. Flume Bullets function as Verbal Bullets, but have a higher level of priority, meaning they can be used to deny Verbal Bullets. Flume Bullets can only be found, and cannot be created by players.
Testament Bullets – When used, you must post in purple. Testament Bullets are truth statements that can be made by both players and NPCs. You may use these bullets when stating the truth outside of evidence that has been found, and in response to Inquisition Bullets. However, while every innocent player and NPC must state the truth when using Testament Bullets, the culprit and their accomplice(s) may state lies using Testament Bullets. Testament Bullets cannot be found, and can only be created by players (for example, when giving alibis).
Machinegun Talk Battle (Defensive) – This is a system available exclusively to the culprit of any murder. At any point before the trial concludes or voting begins, the culprit may invoke Machinegun Talk Battle, which essentially admits that they are the culprit. If invoked, a special debate between the culprit and an elected detective out of the innocents will begin. The detective must then correctly deduce every element of the murder to prove the identity of the culprit. If the detective does this, the culprit will be executed. If the culprit succeeds in fooling the detective, the culprit will go free. All types of bullets can be used in a Machinegun Talk Battle by either the culprit or the detective. In the event of an accomplice murder, the accomplice may also invoke Machinegun Talk Battle in place of the culprit. However, if the accomplice fails, they will be executed along with the culprit. If the accomplice succeeds, both the culprit and accomplice will go free.
Machinegun Talk Battle (Offensive) - This system can be used by any player who is not the culprit. At any point before the trial concludes or voting begins, a player may direct a Machinegun Talk Battle at a suspect. If this happens, that player becomes the detective and debates with the suspect. If the detective manages to corner the suspect using an uncountered Inquisition Bullet, the suspect will be deemed guilty and will be executed as the culprit. If the suspect manages to defend themselves for the duration of the debate, they will be given immunity for the rest of the trial, which means they cannot be considered the culprit even with a new Inquisition Bullet theory. All types of bullets can be used in a Machinegun Talk Battle by either party. If the detective succeeds in the Machinegun Talk Battle, the trial will conclude, regardless of whether the executed suspect was the true culprit or not. This system can only be used by a player once per trial. In the event that a suspect is not present to defend themselves, a proxy will be selected from the other players.
Offensive Machinegun Talk Battles can only be initiated if a theory provided by an Inquisition Bullet indicates someone is a possible suspect and has not been denied by a Verbal Bullet or Flume Bullet. Inquisition Bullets denied by a Testament Bullet can still be used to initiate a Machinegun Talk Battle.
Since multiple worlds exist in Quadric Induction, if you die on one world that does not have a revival mechanic, you will be permanently removed from that world and sent back to the intermediary area. You will not be able to access that world again, because in it you are dead. If you are killed in the intermediary area, you will die permanently and be removed from the game.
Unique Mechanics
These are mechanics that are change depending on the world you enter.
Season 4
Community Trial - No individual trials will take place. Instead, all murders will be discussed in 1 Community Trial thread. In order to convict someone in a Community Trial, you must defeat them in a Machinegun Talk Battle. You may only initiate a MTB once per person. If you defeat that person in the MTB, all of the NPCs will gang up on them and restrain them. If that person defeats you in the MTB, they gain immunity to MTBs until another death has occurred. You cannot initiate an MTB against the same person for the same murder twice.
Bullets still function the same way in a Community Trial. If you wish to initiate a MTB against someone, you must first have a theory Inquisition Bullet against them that has not been denied. You may discuss any death at any time in a Community Trial, murder reports and autopsies may also be conducted and supplied by important NPCs during a Community Trial.
