Alteir Corporation - Secret Meeting Room

[King V]

As you enter the Alteir Corporation, you are led to this room by the attendant. The doors close behind you, and you are inside a large room with an enormous circular desk and many chairs all around. Three chandeliers hang from the ceiling, lighting the room up brightly. A fancier chair is at the head of the table, but currently only an attendant stands near it.

-looks around the room and promptly takes a seat-

-peers around the room studying it to try and determine what style of decore was used and if their were any hints of historical influence-

[King V]

-a man walks into the room and sits down in the chair at the head of the table-

"Ahem, greetings applicants, I'm glad at least some people showed up. I'm Theodore Wane, the CEO of the Alteir Corporation. As you know, you are someone exceptional who we have contacted for the purpose of conducting a very dangerous operation. For the sake of the Alteir Corporation, and the world, I hope you do succeed. I'll begin discussing the operation then."

"There is a barrier surrounding most of Lacren Town, and this barrier was partly our fault. We've done some investigation into the barrier, and we've found that it rejects any person above the age of 18, and randomly transports them just outside of it. Furthermore, nothing that contains combustible chemicals can enter the barrier, including gunpowder. We've had many accidents where guns have exploded upon entry. Lastly, once someone enters the barrier, unless they are rejected, they cannot come out of the barrier. Meaning we won't be seeing each other again until the operation is complete."

"Now for the operation, from the files we've managed to retrieve from our Lacren branch, we know that Dylan Arum had a secret laboratory built somewhere on the outskirts of town for his experiments. We don't know exactly where this laboratory is located, but we believe that the map can be found in our branch building. Since there is a high possibility that Dr. Arum is hiding in that laboratory, I recommend you start with finding the map."

"Are there any questions so far?"

[Touwa Nemu [Hitomi]]

-yawns and raises hand-

"I have a question. There are already people inside said barrier, correct?"

"These individuals seem... unstable, and could therefore compromise the mission, do we have any instructions as for how to handle or approach them?"

[Ryohei Sasagawa[Hero]]

-smoothly walks past the seated girl and begins talking-

"Hmmm...Mr.Wane if I may ask will we be supplied with anything before we enter the barrier, such as tools rations and the like? also although she asks an important question why are you sending me in with this little girl? I am not taking care of her...I know we are desperate for people but she looks too young for the scale and importance of this mission."

[Touwa Nemu [Hitomi]]

-frowns and turns to look at the rude, strange man-

"Well, yeah. That's the point. Under 18, right? You won't be needing to take care of me."

-glances at Mr. Wane before continuing-

"I do agree, however, that it's not the best idea to go in empty-handed, even if we can't bring in weapons."
"I actually had a device in mind... hmm... must have left it at home."

[King V]

"To answer each of these questions individually, we assume that there are still people within the barrier since the condition seems to be that they are under the age of 18. If they obstruct your objectives, you are free to deal with them as you see fit... provided that your actions do not come to light."

"Onto the next item for discussion, we have prepared a special toolkit for this operation. Inside you will find rations for five days (0.1 weight each), medicine for treatment of injury (0.1 weight), and a set of three specific chemicals for dealing with Dr. Arum (0.1 weight each). You may use these for self-defense, but you must save one for Dr. Arum, otherwise you may be unable to take him out. You are also allowed to bring one other item that you think may help you for the operation, we can prepare anything within the range of modern science for you, and will pack it into your toolkit (the item you choose must be under 1 weight, and will be reduced to 0.1 weight once added to the toolkit)."

"The operation will begin in 12 hours, please choose your item carefully."

-yawns-

"Hm, I'd like a multitool, if it's at all possible, with the standard tools and features included."

"Only, seeing as we can't bring weapons in, I'd like to switch the usual blade on it for the most resistant lockpick you can fit into a 1-weight multitool, having it reinforced would be very helpful."

"If you need me to be specific with the features included, feel free to ask, but the standard will suffice. Screwdriver, pliers, nail file, scissors, maybe a small flashlight, and, of course, the main lockpick."

[King V]

"Very well, we will accommodate this request. And now is the time the operation must begin. Ready yourselves to pass through the barrier."

"I would like a small reinforced pickaxe, Mr.Wane and then I will be ready to enter the barrier"
