*Indrid walks in, face stern as he finally steps from wooden stair to the cold, hard floor. He looks around, and sees the sprawling room of equipment before him as he ponders what might have gone on in here*

Upon placing the torn page back into the book, the words become readable. It reads: “Vitalis The forbidden spell acts as a reversible transfer of life force. The medium of transfer is naturally blood, but the spell will very forcibly strip or donate the medium upon proper incitation. The detached life force can then be channeled to a new host or used as a catalyst for another spell. Unlike Absorbe, this spell will completely remove all traces of vitality from the sacrifices, hence the explicitly forbidden nature of this spell. Nonetheless, proper execution requires a legendary alchemist. Performing this spell incorrectly can lead to unnatural disasters. Bits of life force clinging to a vessel result in abominations, and uncontained life force will create perverse creatures.
Catalysts An appropriate number of sacrificial vessels An enchanted weapon to channel the spell and contain the life force Three red energy cores A 150-meter diameter magic circle drawn in the spellcaster’s blood” The next several pages seem to contain an incantation in a foreign language. The next spell reads: “Immortalis Contrary to Vitalis, which is a forbidden spell due to its great risks and a spell that observes laws of conservation, this spell defies God itself. There is a fundamental difference in the execution of the spell from Vitalis, being that it involves an active state of risk. The spellcaster must bind their soul to temporal stasis vessel which contains the life force of the sacrifices. Disruption to the bond will result in either loss of immortality or, more likely, a painful death. An improper binding, however, leads to immortality in a more indirect way, as well as undesirable effects on the sacrifices. A temporary immortality that requires maintenance.
Catalysts An appropriate number of sacrificial vessels An enchanted weapon to channel the spell and contain the life force Three black energy cores A 150-meter diameter magic circle drawn in the spellcaster’s blood A temporal stasis chamber” The next several pages seem to contain an incantation in a foreign language. The next spell reads: “Potentia Using the fundamentals of Absorbe and Vitalis, a large pool of life force can be converted into enchantments. Being the essence of all things, using life force as a power source mitigates the reciprocal cost of enchantments. While this spell encompasses a broad list of powers and abilities, some still remain outside the realm of simple forbidden alchemy. Naturally, using this method will create more limited and temporary usage than through the simple and permanent Incante. If the sacrifice already is enchanted, the enchantment can be transferred.
Catalysts A vessel to imbue, either animate or inanimate One white energy core A sacrificial transfer vessel” The next several pages seem to contain an incantation in a foreign language. The next spell reads: “Inanime The safeguard to any spell becoming uncontrollable is cancelling the flow of the enchantment. An object imbued with this spell can negate the effects of any spell, depending on the enchantment and the nature of the object.
Catalysts An inanimate vessel to imbue One red energy core The essence of void The essence of life The essence of magic” The next several pages seem to contain an incantation in a foreign language, but the incantation is somehow comprehensible. The next spell reads: “Incante" The rest of the pages are burned heavily.
