You should take a look at that odd clock of theirs...
"Upon examining the clock, you see that it stops at certain times. When the small hand is at 2, the big hand stops at 3. At 3, it stops at 9. At 4, it stops at 5. At 5, it stops at 12. At 6, it stops at 2. At 7, it stops at 3. At 8, it stops at 6. And at 9, it stops at 11."

There is a diamond shaped indent in the circular pad... the crystals can probably fit in there. |

So, seems the clock puzzle comes into play now.
Upon placing a crystal inside the indent, a rainbow-hued holographic panel is projected above the podium. Nine circles radiating outwards from the center appear on the panel, each with a uniquely-colored ring at a specific point on the circles. The central circle has its ring in the center.

Ow... that was a bit painful... anyway... 2-9 corresponds to planets... 1 is the central orb which is the sun... the hour hand is where they should be shifted to...
Mercury to 3
Venus to 9
Earth to 5
Mars to 12
Jupiter to 2
Saturn to 3
Uranus to 6
Neptune to 11

There are 40 columns
Upon examining the number of rings on each column counter-clockwise, you get the sequence of numbers 1126 1188 1222 1261 2047 2063 2099 3025 3110 3214.
