Season Paradox: Conclusion

The Plot

Three brilliant scientists, a physicist, a biologist, and an engineer came together in order to try and invent time travel. They worked on and on, trying for countless years to come up with theories on time travel and create a working time machine, but to no avail. Finally they were forced to become teachers at a certain high school called El Academy for their living expenses.

Cranaskous, the God of Dichotomy and one of the 3 Major Gods, saw this happening and realized he could use these scientists. He dropped them a few hints on time travel and oversaw their eventual creation of a working time machine. However, when the scientists finally completed their time travel experiment, Cranaskous tricked them into contacting their past selves, and an enormous paradox engulfed the school's past present and future. Cranaskous was pleased with this result, but apparently around 15 people had gotten stuck in the paradox. In order to prevent them from doing anything that would disrupt his plans, Cranaskous sent Xinei, the God of Isolation, to look after the school. But Xinei didn't take his job seriously and everything went horribly wrong.


The First Paradox

During the first paradox, on the sixth day, the book Xinei wrote was found, and everyone went crazy killing each other to try and end the paradox. The paradox was quickly terminated, but Cranaskous didn't let it end so easily. The God of Dichotomy gathered an enormous sphere of power, and kept the paradox in place. He personally killed the person who committed the 5th murder, and let everyone else die from the exploding portal in B2 for good measure.

Cranaskous rewound time back 10 days, and restarted the game. This time, he took measures to try and stop people from ending the paradox too early.


The Second Paradox

In the second paradox, things proceeded a little differently. Wine, the victim of Cranaskous in the first paradox, found a way to fight back. He discovered the Sword of Truth that Darius Lamar had hidden in his classroom in case of emergencies. Wine proceeded to confront Cranaskous on the rooftop, and Cranaskous summoned the spirits of those Wine had already killed to delay him. But the spirits were overpowered by Wine, and Wine managed to reach Cranaskous's sphere of power and stab it with the Sword of Truth, causing a massive explosion that destroyed the paradox completely. The school ended up back in the main timeline about 9 days into the future.

The Fates of the Players

Wine - Found the Sword of Truth that Darius had left in his classroom, and proceeded to start murdering people in order to create 5 fixed points and end the paradox. Along the way he realized that Cranaskous was behind the entire paradox scheme, and decided to try and foil his plans. He went up to the rooftop where he fought the spirits of Sakuya, Rena, and Raspberry that Cranaskous had summoned to protect him. The spirits didn't manage to protect the god, and Wine stabbed the sphere with the Sword of Truth at the end. After the authorities arrived, Wine was put into an ambulance for treating his wounds, but along the way to the hospital, a bridge the ambulance was driving along collapsed. People swore they could have seen an umbrella-holding figure floating off to the side of the bridge. However, Wine's corpse was never found and he disappeared in the accident.
SECRET ENDING ACHIEVED

Sakuya Izayoi - Sakuya started off plotting for murder and stripping items off of stray corpses to prepare for various murders, but she was met with a sudden end from Wine who had the Sword of Truth at the time. However, this was not the end for Sakuya as she was brought back as a spirit by Cranaskous, who summoned her as protection against Wine's eventual attack. When Wine did attack, Sakuya put up a valiant effort, but failed to prevent Wine from reaching Cranaskous's sphere. Spirit Sakuya faded away after the paradox was destroyed.

Nagato Yuki - Nagato quickly found various parts of the secrets surrounding the paradox, and eventually came up to the rooftop to request an ordeal from Xinei. Xinei offered Nagato free leave of the paradox if she completed it... that is, solving the murders of everyone who died in the future. Nagato was overwhelmed by the task, and spent hours trying to figure out who died and who the culprit for each murder was. Eventually she couldn't complete the ordeal in time, but was still taken out of the paradox as it was destroyed.

Raspberry - Raspberry wandered around most of the game trying to set up for a murder. Eventually he succeeded, murdering Slaine Troyard in a copycat attempt to frame Wine. However, due to people being extremely doubtful in trial, nothing happened after the murder. Raspberry was eventually killed by Wine and resurrected in spirit form by Cranaskous. He didn't actually do much in battle since he woke up late and didn't receive a weapon. Spirit Raspberry faded after the paradox was destroyed.

Tsurugi Kanzaki - Tsurugi was someone who was very paranoid about his future death, and tried very hard to avoid being killed in the same way. What he didn't know was that Cranaskous had created an alternate future where his death wasn't guaranteed, so he ended up being paranoid about it regardless. Just before the final battle ended, Tsurugi attempted to get to the rooftop, but was stopped by Xinei's series of riddles. He was so engrossed in the riddles that when the police came to take him away, Tsurugi was babbling nonsense about math equations. He was given several months in psychological care afterwards.

Kamui - Kamui realized very early that killing 5 people would have ended the paradox. However, he wanted to find another solution, and searched far and wide for one. He despised murder and tried his hardest to convict the two people who had killed Sakuya and Slaine, but failed in the end. Afterwards, he was so tired from his detectivework that he couldn't even wake up to witness the final battle. He was later carried off by some people riding on horseback saying they needed him to slay an evil demon king or something.

Rena Ryuugu - Rena wandered around the entire game carrying a cleaver and just being intimidating in general. Eventually she was killed by Wine and resurrected as a spirit by Cranaskous. Cranaskous gave her a weapon and sent her to stop Wine from reaching him. In the final battle, Rena was too hasty and charged in. Wine easily counterattacked and Rena was taken out of the picture. Spirit Rena faded as the paradox was destroyed.

Kasumi - Kasumi made a great effort to explore every inch of the school, and encountered Xinei on the rooftop. There she learned of all the ways to end the paradox, and she chose the most difficult one. Her actions of telling other people how to end the paradox eventually led quite a few people to the rooftop, but they all got stuck on Xinei's riddles and couldn't pass through. Kasumi proceeded to look around everywhere for some hints as to the date she needed to stop the time travel experiment. But she didn't make it in time and the paradox ended after the final battle on the rooftop.

Other Possible Endings

1. Create 5 Fixed Points - Death can be treated as a fixed point, thus the logical conclusion is to murder 5 people and end the paradox. This was a valid solution, but another solution was also available. Searching the past timeline, one could find Abelvion's Fated Pen, which was able to created fixed points by writing about certain events that had already happened. The pen would transform those events into fixed points, and writing 5 of them would end the paradox.

2. Ordeal of Isolation - Whoever managed to get past Xinei's riddles could challenge the God of Isolation to an ordeal. The ordeal required the player to correctly solve all murders that occurred in the future timeline, both culprits and methods. If one completed the ordeal, one would be transported by Xinei out of the paradox and back into the main timeline.

3. Paradox Inception - Setting the time machine portal to the correct date, October 13th, 2014, would have allowed the player to stop the time travel experiment from happening in the first place. Pulling the circuit breaker would have cut all power in the school, disabling the time machine portals. This would have resulted in the game never happening in the first place, with everyone ending up back at the assembly.

4. Godslayer (Secret Ending) - Acquire the Sword of Truth that Darius had left in his classroom, and confront Cranaskous who was orbiting around the school in his giant red sphere. This could have been done on any day the sphere was visible. Cranaskous would have summoned a final boss, and a battle would have occurred. If the battle was won, the player could destroy Cranaskous's sphere with the sword and end the paradox.

A man dressed completely in white watches as the school disappears in a blinding explosion. He scoffs to himself.

"Really, Cranaskous? You called me here for this? What a waste of time."

The God of Nothingness, Nir, turns away from the scene, but is stopped as another figure appears in a lying-down position in front of him.

"Cranaskous has a message for you," Xinei says, yawning sleepily. "Watch the method... he says..."

Xinei disappears, leaving Nir by himself in oblivion.

"The method...?" Nir says, looking back to where the school once was. He thinks for a moment, then realizes what the words mean.

"Hah... hahaha... I'm sure you've prepared a way to escape what's coming, Cranaskous, but I'll make sure EVERYTHING ELSE is ANNIHILATED!"

Nir laughs evilly to himself for a while before disappearing.

In the Ambulance Car

The ambulance car was illuminated by only single weak light bulb from the ceiling. Wine was sitting on the bench in the ambulance car staring at the white ceiling. His injuries were already treated. He wasn't lying on the bed because another patient with more serious injuries lied there. Wine was wearing a complicated expression and the air in the ambulance car was very dark and heavy. The patient on the bed has just passed away from severe bleeding from numerous wounds. No matter what the nurse and the doctor here tried, they couldn't save him. They seemed to be minding it a lot. The nurse was supposedly new and it was her first time having patient die in front of her. Patient being a still young and healthy man didn't make it any easier. The ambulance siren was now turned off and only silence remained. Wine was pondering whether he should feel glad because a future murderer has perished, or be sad because the man was in fact his friend and it was because of Wine using him that he ended up like that. And as if breaking a silence, a call has rang out through the car. It was coming from car's internal phone. Doctor answered it. He soon became surprised and extended the handset to Wine saying it was for him. Wine answered it.
Wine: "Hello? ...... Ah, its you... Injuries? Nah, nothing serious, it will get better once I sleep and eat... Well, you see, a lot of interesting stuff happened and I kinda got winded up in the middle of them.... I will tell you all about it later, I got a bunch of interesting stories too... In any case, how are the preparations going? ... Soon? That is great! I will be heading over to you now, so just wait there."
Wine put down the phone handset and looked around the ambulance car. Doctor and nurse looked at him puzzled.
Wine: "Yeah, this should do just finely."
Wine stood up from the bench and then extended both of his hands towards doctor and nurse. He took them by their throats and strangled both of them together. 2 bodies hit the floor. He now stood alone in ambulance that was still driving forward without driver realizing anything. The air in the ambulance only got darker. And then, Wine extended his hand hand towards the back exit from the car and then darkness from all corners of car gathering at the door. It took less than 10 seconds for it to form a single door. Wine clicked his fingers and the door opened leading to what looked like a completely other place.
Wine: "Well then, I had a good share of fun here. It is sad that I never managed to kill that god in the end, but alas, I have another god to fight elsewhere. But be sure, that once I'm done with that one, I will come back for your head."
Saying that, Wine pulled out a gas mask from another small pocket of darkness he created and wore it on his face as he stepped through the door, door disappearing after him as if it never was there in the first place.
