Conclusion
Traitor Victory!
The buses engine roared as it flew down the dirt road, away from the grounds above the old mine and secret facility. The dust flies as the bus accelerates and puts peddle to the metal to get distance from the mine. The ones inside the bus congratulate each other on a job well done when suddenly an ear-splitting explosion rings out and the sound of rubble falling fills the air. The employees all look back towards the deathtrap of a mine they had just escaped. The policeman driving the bus tips his hat to them and says,
"Congratulations on a Job Well Done! There were quite a few complications, but you all went with it swimmingly. The Boss will no doubt have us celebrate later as well over drinks, but allow me to be the first to welcome you! Welcome to Obelisk and I hope you enjoy your stay whilst working here!"
-Five Minutes Earlier, back at the Mine-
An Empty room sits in the center of the facility, its lone inhabitant one Marakata Stein, now long gone and being carried away by here supposed rescuers. Surrounding the room are the five quarters of the facility and unknown to those currently wandering the depths, five bombs ticking down, planted by one of the Employees. None of the explosives were discovered and the facility was almost entirely destroyed or buried. The twin objectives of the Employees, the evacuation of one Marakata Stein, presumed dead initially, and the destruction of the information inside the facility. Both objectives were accomplished.
-Back to the Present-
The so called, Boss, the employer of those who had entered the mine to accomplish the mission ran alongside the bus carrying his new and proven employees. In his arms and white lab coat was the MAKE infused body of one Marakata Stein, still alive in some cruel, or perhaps kind, twist of fate. He had come here in order to perform the rites, now that he finally had the resources, but he had found something else entirely. The Man who calls himself Pebble knows that what has happened will change the entire course of his war. As he ponders the voice of the one in his arms echoes in his head.
Marakata Stein: "It has.... been a long time.... hasn't it..... Pebble.... Or should I.... Call you Diamond? As we did whilst.... working?"
Pebble knows that a new possibility had just opened. A way around the Eternity has appeared before him and he knew that soon would be the time to step out of the shadows. With this in mind he responded to the one in his arms.
Pebble/Diamond: "No, Please. Call me by my name."
Marakata Stein: "Very well.....Finire.... It is good to.... see you again...."
Finire: "And you as Well, hopefully we will have a full reunion soon."
And so he ran with the bus with his new employees, dreaming of the day when he wouldn't need to run.
-Back at the Collapsed Mine: Ground Level: 2 Hours Later-
A lone Helicopter flies overhead, with only a pilot and one other sitting in the back. A pair of keen eyes looks out from the helicopter, following the link he sensed between himself and what he sought. It didn't take long before he spotted what he was looking for, lying almost entirely in pieces in a crater just above the area of collapsed ground. Without hesitation, at cloud level he leaped out of the helicopter and dropped toward the crater. Gravity could not hope to harm the man in his giant black cloak as he crashed into the ground and ran towards the destroyed body of his Eternity Weapon Alice/Amaranth.
Aeturnus knelt beside the destruction and looked to find what had caused it and the extent of the damage. He could hardly imagine what could have dealt this level of damage to her. The case around her heart, the Eternity Clockwork, was cracked, but still solid. A fist shaped indentation made in its depths. Even stranger were the blood gears that made up Alice strewn about and near the point of impact. They glittered in the sun and seemed to even look like diamond. Stranger yet, Aeturnus could not affect them with the power of Aeturnums, it was as if they were stuck in time and refused to budge. Aeturnus looked around the collapsed ground and knew whatever had been buried here would be nigh on entirely lost, but he would dig. He would find those willing and dig up whatever he could find. He would know what caused these strange marks and had harmed Alice.
And so he gathered up Alice piece by piece, all the pieces that were unafflicted by the strange marks before finally grabbing her torso and lifting it. As he lifted though....something fell out. What looked like a business card. Aeturnus grabbed it and read it quickly.
The name on the front left him bewildered.... shocked even. It was a name he hadn't heard in a very long time. But that wasn't all. He flipped the card over to read its back and found a message that he knew was addressed to him.
There he stood, pondering what in the world was going on and he whispered to himself.
Aeturnus: "You're......alive?"
The Survivors
Only a handful of those who entered the mine would live to tell the tale. Three of the Four hired by Finire had escaped, one presumed dead had been left behind with the explosives sealing their fate. They celebrated their success and there soon to be rewards.
The Winner of Emerald Enlightenment
Soumi Hiroomi
Soumi had been assigned the most difficult task of all. To secretly bring in five explosives from the outside and plant them across the facility without being discovered. It took all the room he had and the tricks in his book to keep them hidden, luckily for him there was little if any violence between the members, resulting in him not having to worry about being discovered due to an attempt on his life or another. He planted all five bombs and then finished his duty by located the Extraction Target, Marakata Stein. Then he made his escape from the mine with the others.
Illya
Illya had been assigned the role of Guardian, her duty had been to watch over the other employees and protect them from discovery and harm. With the rather small amount of violence that occurred it was a fairly simply procedure to keep the others safe so she assisted in the location of the target and its Evac.
Felix
Felix had been assigned the role of Backup, a sleeper agent who would only be called on if another one of the employees fell in the line of duty. He was called upon to replace the porter, the one in charge of moving the target to the exit. He fell in line with Soumi and Illya, working together to successfully locate and remove the target.
However.... Three others survived the incident. They had been regulars, however through luck and a roll of the dice that would have made God's own jaw drop to the floor these three found a safe location and were there at the time of the explosion's detonation.
Makioka Nai
Nai searched fervently for the words left behind by one Elliot, believing in discovering his true purpose and his history. Luckily for Nai this search would prove to save his life and the other two. This was because Elliot had constructed and hidden a shelter to hide in if circumstances arose. Nai solved Elliots Riddles and unlocked the secret passage beneath the library and into safety. Nai even felt the desire to tell those of the place and through the announcement system, managed to get two others to arrive at the shelter before the explosion. Nai would later be rescued by Aeturnus who was digging up the facility.
Indrid Cold
Indrid was unlucky enough to catch the employees in the execution of their mission, but arrive at a point to late to stop it. He watched the door slam closed on the escape route as they fled and he was forced to once again search the depths of the mine in order to find a way out. He ran all around the facility and teamed up with Toyo in order to try and solve the mystery of the door. Luckily for him Nai was there to save him, alerting him to a safe location which resulted in his surviving the explosion. He would later be rescued by Aeturnus who was digging up the facility.
Toyo
A profound follower and spreader of Taoism, Toyo sought to enlighten those in the mine with their ideals, however this proved more difficult than necessary. They applied their mind and searched the facility with some success, but they were overwhelmed by the execution of the traitors plans. Toyo teamed up with Indrid who told them about the mystery door the those who had escaped, but even together they could not open the door. Luckily for them Nai was there to save them, alerting her to a safe location which resulted in her surviving the explosion. She would later by rescued by Aeturnus who was digging up the facility.
