Schemes of the Past
Nearly 4 years ago, the God of Life, Ilenskvel, created a facility for experimenting with new life forms. He hired a loyal set of human staff, and sent his facility into orbit for protection and secrecy. He and his staff experimented with rift energy for 2 years, then Ilenskvel, who had business elsewhere, left the facility, putting the Head Researcher in charge.
At the same time, Hereiss Qionraem, the God of Distortions, was looking for a way to quickly increase his power level and try to kill the God of Fate, Abelvion. He found Ilenskvel's facility, and took it over, forcing the staff into submission. He began developing Chimeras, creatures made from fusing different life forms together with rift energy. Eventually the different quarters in the facility began developing different methods of making chimeras. The first quarter attempted creation of the gods' Archetype powers to create chimeras, the second quarter attempted creation of vampires in order to create more powerful chimeras, the third quarter kept experimenting with rift energy and was largely ignored by HQ, the fourth quarter where Qionraem resided experimented with the creation of the perfect chimera. But, before Qionraem managed to create the chimera, the Head Researcher, an ardent supporter of Ilenskvel, injected herself with concentrated rift energy, and became Chimera No.0, a bane of all gods. Chimera No.0 killed off all the researchers, and Qionraem was forced out of the facility by the large influx of rift energy, but used his power to bind Chimera No.0 in a central prison. For a long time, the two were at a stalemate...
A researcher had survived the vampire incident in the second quarter, and after managing to enter the fourth quarter, contacted Qionraem. HQ decided to have him build 15 more chimeras, designed especially to kill other chimeras. However, while creating the new chimeras, something went wrong and 1 chimera was made unstable, and would transform every night into their animal component to rampage and kill off another chimera. HQ was displeased and killed of the last researcher after he had let the chimeras escape. Meanwhile Ilenskvel had returned, but could not enter the facility due to the massive amount of rift energy surrounding it. Ilenskvel used his projections to create Quarter Bosses, entities that would impede the chimeras' progress. These chimeras would eventually become the players of the game between Qionraem and Ilenskvel.

Players of the Present
Eventually, only 3 players remained. Pebble, Shiori, and Nova. These three players chose to support Qionraem and engaged the now-freed Chimera No.0 in combat. At first, they used the App Upgrades provided to them in the fourth quarter App Data Room to try and overpower Chimera No.0, but quickly learned that Chimera No.0 was infinitely more powerful. The three immediately retreated, while Nova learned of one of Chimera No.0's weaknesses. Sadly he was unable to put that weakness into practice and just got hit by flame spears a bunch of times. Eventually the three were cornered in the Extraction Room of the third quarter. As their last-ditch plan, they attempted to use the æther crystals in the extraction room to kill Chimera No.0, but incorrectly dissipated the crystals instead of condensing them into a proper weapon. Chimera No.0 cast her final spell and destroyed the entire facility, ending the game.
Individual Fates of the Players
Hatsune Mystio - The only human participant of the game, and the person Qionraem brought to his facility to guide the chimeras. Mystio went around and tried to do her job, talking to people and such, but the others simply were not interested. Eventually Mystio hatched a plan to kill off some of the chimeras, but was attacked before she could execute it. In the end, she never found out her past, that she was actually a student from Hope's Peak Academy who caused a massive despair incident over 2 years ago.
DEAD END
Spy W - A rift type dog chimera, Spy W initially began trying to achieve 3 murders and escape the game, but he was foiled by Dr. Faust and a few others. After plotting his revenge, Spy W was unfortunate to suffer an attack by the Curse and died.
DEAD END
Mario - A rift type homunculus, Mario also plotted to kill 3 people and escape the facility, and ironically he was also foiled by Dr. Faust along with Nova. Mario also plotted his revenge, but he was so engrossed in plotting that he didn't even notice when Bobby Fullbright hit him with chloroform and murdered him.
DEAD END
Iris Ashberry - An archetype owl chimera, Iris was the unstable chimera and cause of the Curse which plagued the players. Iris mostly kept to herself in the dormitory, causing random players to die as she transformed every night and clawed them to death with her talons. Eventually Bobby Fullbright plotted to kill her and succeeded, ending the Curse along with her life.
DEAD END
Shiori - An archetype cat chimera, Shiori survived all the way until the end, poking and searching around everything to find all of the plot in the game. Sadly, she decided against summoning the original creator of the facility, Ilenskvel, and decided to instead help Qionraem and fight Chimera No.0. She was caught up in the explosion of the facility alongside Pebble and Nova, after trying to use her magical powers acquired from the App Data Room to save them.
DEAD END?
Ai Enma - A rift type butterfly chimera, Ai Enma kept to herself for the majority of the game, but she was especially attracted to corpses killed by the curse. Of course, this was all to steal their sigils. Ai hoarded many, many sigils throughout the game, hidden away in a stash in Testing Area 2. However, as she attempted to steal Bobby Fullbright's sigils, Bobby turned the tables and murdered her.
In the Afterlife, Ai accomplished Nir's ordeal and was promised her vengeance, but before Nir could arrive at the facility, Chimera No.0 had already destroyed it. So Ai sits in hell, her vengeance still unfulfilled.
DEAD END
Hinaichigo - An archetype automaton, Hinaichigo was so scared of the other players that she spent the entire game inside her dorm room. She would peek out from time to time, but never stepped out from her room. Eventually she was caught in the explosion from Chimera No.0 and perished.
DEAD END
Ririchiyo Shirakiin - An archetype dog chimera, Ririchiyo spent most of the game to herself, before she was killed by Iris due to the Curse. Never accomplished much in the game.
DEAD END
Pebble - An archetype cat chimera, Pebble spent the entire game going around with his Camera App and trying to make movies, while finding important information about the facility he was in. Eventually he upgraded the Camera App into a Movie App and become more obsessed with filming everything. In the final battle, he forced a transformation into his cat form and attacked Chimera No.0, but it was futile as the chimera regenerated too fast. He was then caught up in the explosion that destroyed the facility alongside Shiori and Nova.
DEAD END?
Dr. Faust - An archetype jellyfish chimera, Dr. Faust spent the first half of the game foiling everyone's murder plans by knocking them out and confiscating their sigils. But eventually, Darius came to deliver punishment, as Qionraem was displeased as to how the game was progressing. Eventually Dr. Faust was killed by one of Ilenskvel's projections for disrupting so many murders and decreasing Ilenskvel's chances of reclaiming the facility.
DEAD END
Dudley - An archetype rhinoceros chimera, Dudley spent most of the game to himself inside his dorm room. Eventually he was killed by Iris due to her unstable nature and transforming. Never really accomplished much in the game.
DEAD END
Siren Sings - An archetype cat chimera, Siren was only there when there was action. She spent her first days cooped up in her room, but when the first Quarter Boss was released, she quickly jumped in and lured the zombie chimera into a room. However, she was foiled as the zombie chimera blocked the door, and was trapped inside the room. Eventually Qionraem lent everyone his power to kill the zombie chimera, and Siren went back to her dorm. Later on she was killed off by Iris as a result of the Curse.
DEAD END
Roy Yamazuki - A rift type honey badger chimera, Roy spent the entire game doing very random things, like making a glue sandwich, making shampoo coffee, etc. Eventually he decided to kill Mystio, but was foiled as Bobby Fullbright walked in on his plan while setting up for his own plan. Bobby decided to include killing Roy in his plans and Roy met his demise.
DEAD END
Nova the Poet - A rift type phoenix chimera, Nova spent the first part of the game being dumb. He got caught up in one of Dr. Faust's schemes and almost committed suicide afterwards due to guilt. However, he kept strong and went around finding plot, surviving until the final battle. He got a lead on how to kill Chimera No.0, but wasted his time trying to taunt it and lure it into rooms. Eventually he was caught up in the explosion that destroyed the facility alongside Shiori and Pebble.
DEAD END?
Bobby Fullbright - A rift type raccoon chimera, Bobby initially started going around and collecting documents with information, but he soon turned to murder instead, as the route to escape seemed easier. He began by murdering Ai Enma and Mario who he had encountered in the hallway of the laboratory area. Except, Yue walked in on his murder, and he was forced to improvise. Bobby used this to his advantage and decided to frame Yue for the murder. His frame succeeded in the end and Yue was executed. Then, Bobby decided to kill Iris Ashberry who he deemed a major threat after the first trial. However, he walked in on Roy's murder while setting up for his own, and was forced to kill Roy as well. Having already lived through the first trial, Bobby managed to escape the facility, only to find himself stranded in space, floating to infinity and beyond...
VICTORY END
Yue - An archetype fox chimera, Yue was generally helpful to everyone as he went around finding documents with information on the facility. He was especially ardent in trying to figure out the Curse everyone was under, and spent a lot of time investigating the Curse murders. However, on his way back from investigating a Curse murder, he walked in on a real murder. He quickly tried to investigate the bodies, but was locked inside the crime scene. Due to this, he was deemed very suspicious and executed in trial. Perhaps his curiosity had gotten the better of him...
DEAD END
Ravan - Some random chimera nobody cares about. Just used as Curse fodder to set an example. Never really did much.
DEAD END
Prospects of the Future
Ilenskvel stands outside the ruins of his facility, on top of a giant whale-turtle he created especially for space travel. He is joined by a holographic projection of a man in a winter coat, a scarf wrapped around his neck.
"Nobody won this round, I suppose," Qionraem's projection says. "But I'll defeat you next time for sure. And then the other gods in the upper circle will meet their end."
Qionraem's projection fades and Ilenskvel glances at a holographic screen floating nearby. The words printed on it: "PROJECT WORLD REBIRTH".
"Nobody won this round?" Ilenskvel smiles to himself. "It's too bad... the battle may have been a draw, but I will definitely win this war."
