What is IT? Well I can guess then. Pebble here will just fire a shot in the dark. I am basing this off of the Applications we could download through our sigils. Specifically the Assimilation Applications in the transformation quarter. You, Mr. Distortion God, have power over the imaginary, but not the real. Hence the whole Chimera thing. The problem is that you need a chimera with SOMETHING that lets it merge with you so it can be your "perfect Chimera." A perfect chimera would no longer need to assimilate anything else, or rather, would be in your situation, unable to assimilate anything that isn't related.

IT, is the true distortion of one's self. IT is basically "Black Magic."

I am basing this on the apps that can be assimilated with what represents your power, Qionraem, Imaginary Sigils. Of the Assimilations apps, only three have Imaginary sigils as their only specific requirement. These are Telekinesis assimilation, Phase Assimilation, and Black Magic Assimilation. These are both abilities that border on the impossible and have almost NO science explaining them. IT is the power to bring Imagination into reality. The head researcher realized that 49 had come close to this in almost making his imaginary revolution truly successful, and thus had to go quell it to stop your plans. 

That is this poor little Pebble's guess, purely based on some applications and these confusing Sigils that are bouncing around!

I will just make a timeline to keep this all clear in my mind... Li was the original owner of this facility. Later on, you came and took over. Some researchers accepted you while others denied you. Li was definitely here 12 months ago to leave instructions. This facility, or some sectors anyway, had been abandoned for six months when the dark matter entity escaped from its cylinder. Others quarters were cleared out by the vampires, 49, and we may have destroyed this sector ourselves. We were created for the goal of killing the head researcher. I wonder what the perfect specimen is, as it could also have been another reason that this sector is destroyed. The most likely possibility would be the head researcher herself. I am not sure if we had killed the researcher on our way out or whether you had done so yourself. The note at the end “Mercy is only for the weak and inept. Remember that in the afterlife.” would indicated that it is your work. The perfect specimen is probably a creation of rift energy and IT. I doubt it is the Gaiaphage trapped within the cylinders below.

Ahh... so thats it... The reason you need the head researcher dead is because she interfered with your perfect specimen. If we go with Pebble's guess that you need to fuse with a being of rift energy then that is now likely.
