Echo'd Thoughts is a minigame that utilizes two characters per player.
Each team composes of one Black Character, and one White Character. Only the Player and the MasterMinds know who is Black and who is White.
The game's setting is in a closed Forest, and underground caves. The caves are directly under the forest, there are many mechanisms that will effect the other area.
Characters can swap places easily using an item bound to them, where one character is always above ground and the other always below ground.
Teams have two basic goals: Escape or Kill. Getting away with murder allows the team to leave, and so does escaping.
Black Characters are able to kill any character and are specialists in murder. They are also the only players capable of strong tasks and knocking out, they can also put up a good fight.
White Characters are weak but fast, if a White Character is attacked and closed in, they're as good as dead from a Black Character. The only thing a White can murder is another White. White is smarter and learns more through investigation, has a larger carrying capacity, and is able to easily run from a Black Character.
Most puzzles require teamwork between the two characters, a player will MAJORLY struggle with progression if they don't use their team together. It's very easy to tell where puzzles join.
Only one character can perform actions at a time.
If a character is engaged, switching leaves them vulnerable. You need to switch in a safe place or your character may be attacked. However, it's very easy to fake "inactive".
If a character is knocked out, within a couple mins you can switch to the other for a bit and will be unable to switch / know what's happening on the other side for a bit.
If a character is murdered, they will not be able to switch until after the trial. The player is as good as screwed at this point and can do nothing but help others or blind murder.
If caught in a trial, the entire team will be executed.
If a player succeeds in murder, all other players are executed.
If a character with a dead teammate murders, there will be a trial.
If a character with a dead teammate is murdered, there will be no trial.
During a trial, each team gets a single vote. Suicide will count towards trial.
During a trial, a glow connecting your characters will make it obvious who's on who's team.
During a trial, players will roleplay as both characters at once.
