The shadowy beast charges at Sable and swarms over the walls. She braces for a blow that never came, a violent gust blowing past her. The candles blow out and she was once again in darkness. She stumbles as the chamber around started shifting, but kept away from walls. Small flames returned to the candles one by one as the rumbling finally settled. A passage had opened behind her, with glowing glyphs floating within the walls. Small shadows hopped along from one glyph to the next, waving for her to follow. She sat staring for a while, fear creeping into her mind. She shook her head to clear her thoughts and reluctantly went along, wary of further shifting within the walls. At the end, she found a chamber with a circular table in the center and a ring of triangular chairs.
A child slept at the table with the owl standing nearby. The owl kicked the child on the back of his head and flew off laughing. The child caught himself right as he slipped off the table and glared at the owl. He slowly stood and brushed the dust from his robes. After a graceful bow, quite strange for one of his apparent youth, he started to speak. "From what Eix reports..." He glances over to the owl, "Ya seem to have forgotten about us again, so reintroductions are in order. I'm Mani, Keeper of Urel-An, or dusk in the common language. That idiot is Eix, the one given Arel-In, otherwise called dawn. Seein how you've come from that tunnel... I'd wager you met Uni. Ah do wonder what it revealed to you... Would you be willing to share? It doesn't usually grace us with its presence unless there is something major... Ah would guess that the actors are returning to the stage, seein how you've woken."
Sable was filled with increasing unease as she thought back to her conversation with Uni and eventually answered, "The silver eyed beast hunts..."
Mani and Eix exchange glances with each other for a moment before turning to Sable. "Then we do not have much time." "We will have to leave... but where..." "Aluine is probably more prepared than we... Eix, lead Sable to her... I will try to hide your tracks." Eix hops from the table and glides toward a wall, a tunnel opening before him. "Your training will have to come as we travel... perhaps we can even recover a few of your memories to aid the process."
She listened on until the "hermit" stopped his ramblings and went to "sleep." Her entertainment having stopped, she closed her eyes and sought another source within the night. She heard the crunching of "foliage" as large creatures ran along. The sounds of the "village" slowly changed to the songs of the evening, although the rumbling that accompanied seemed more frantic tonight. Off in the distance, something that sounded akin to a "storm" approached. The most interesting of the happenings, she thought.

Meanwhile, a creature that seems to be darkness itself stalks the group. It is several tens of feet away, but seems to easily keep up. So far all it does is observe, but it would certainly alarm Sable and company if they were able to notice the odd creature.

Mani turns away as the the tunnel starts folding back in on itself and the pair disappear into she shadows beyond. Something was off here, perhaps the creature that the shadows were dancing circles around? He sighs and flicks his hand to the side. A wave bursts forth to pin the creature to the wall with a following burst to blow away its cloaking, assuming that it was such. "What are you and how did you get in here?"
(React as you wish, those were simply the intention of the attacks)
She leapt toward the "village," seeing as the more interesting of the events would happen there. She thought to fly, but that might trigger the chain. This dream had too much promise of delight to have it end here.

The creature is throw against the wall, but the darkness covering it seems to remain even after the wave intent on removing it. A screech rends the air as the creature howls in shock and pain before slipping through the cracks in the wall and vanishing, its prey much stronger than previously anticipated.
Mani grimaced as the creature made its escape and let it go. There was plenty to be feared in the world, but now wasn't the time to be chasing shadows. Mani could almost feel it in the air, something bad was going to happen very soon....
Sable, unaware of the events occurring not far behind them, walked onwards, ever curious about learning the truth of matters. The silver eye haunted her thoughts as she walked, she couldn't place what she thought she could read in the eye when it looked upon her. Desire? Envy? Curiosity? She shivered and pulled her cloak further around her, hiding her deeper in the shadows of her cloak as if it would keep her hidden from the silver eye.... Time to Decide....
Elsewhere....
The one known as Index ran through the countryside on all fours, swift as the wind itself. He had not stopped for food nor drink as he knew the target was a flighty one. If he gave them even a couple minutes they would flee and his hunt would become long and drawn out, which brought him some amount of worry. He did not wish to make them wait. His journey was swift and quiet, plowing through forest and mountain alike without giving even the animals there time enough to consider him. It was a sight he did not expect as he entered the plains leading up to the last mountain between him and his target that finally caused him to slow. A lone person, standing in a vibrantly colored dress, right in the fields before him, twirling an equally garishly colored umbrella. He had been so focused on tracking the scent of the target that he had completely missed the person standing before him. He slapped himself mentally at allowing there perfumes to go unnoticed.
His 4 legged run soon changed back to three and then two as he approached the familiar face.
Index: "I cannot imagine why you would willingly choose to stand here in the wilderness. Does your purpose coincide with mine, Ring?"
The woman known as Ring, twirls and closes the gap between her and index, her two hands swinging up to cup his face that stared on with unblinking eyes, one of silver.
Ring: "We haven't spoken in so long and that is how you greet me? I do so wish the puppy would be as friendly around us as he is around his master. Perhaps at least a friendly bark?"
Index's non silver eye seemed to fill with annoyance as Ring spoke to him. He blinked and took a long breath, he had forgotten how Ring was to deal with.
Index: "Even you can see I am under commands. The only reason you would be here is if you had something to tell me. Do you carry words from The High One?"
Ring: "Don't be jealous now, You can't have them all to yourself puppy. But I have hoarded for too long and The High One will not be pleased if I play with her hunting dog when he should be working."
Ring closed her eyes and took a breath of her own. When they reopened, all the playfulness was gone, leaving only an iron will, the air itself seemed to grow still waiting on her words.
Ring: "I have additional orders from The High Arahdin. The village you are heading towards has been discovered as a known base of operations for heretics against the teachings of Ine-om."
Index's non silver eye was now focused solely on the lips of Ring, could this be what he thought it was? Meanwhile, the silver eye gazed at the mountains in the distance.
Ring: "You are hereby ordered to turn the town into rubble. Leave no survivors. The only exception is the one you hunt. You already know what to do with them. That is all. I will be handling the ones in the village to the west."
Index repeatedly relaxed and tightened his grip on his flail as an excitement filled his non-silver eye. He didn't get kill commands often. This was maybe the third or fourth time, and on such a scale. He tried to keep the glee out of his grin and eye, but failed spectacularly.
Index: "Very well, I shall carry out the commands of the High Arahdin without fail. The village will be removed from the map with all haste."
Ring: "Oh, I almost forgot to mention. The High Arahdin says anyone you slay is yours, no need to hold back. They have declared that the heretics are of more immediate importance than the chase, so feel free to take your time. The High Arahdin seems to be enjoying the wait, so no need to rush things. Oh, and please don't bury the bell in rubble. I'm the one who has to go get it afterwards. Now, off you go puppy."
Index let the shockwave as he started his charging once more speak for itself. He had his command, to kill and to enjoy and to let loose. He ran with his vigor restored and began to sing his chant once more, this time aloud, as he ran. He was going to need to if he wanted to crush the village as fast as he was imagining.
The sun was rising.....
It will be the last sunrise they see for the villagers. What it means for Sable..... Only they know.

[POST INVALIDATED DUE TO INFRINGING UPON THE ANTAGONIST CONTROL SIDE] [Feel free to read the post, but treat it as if it did not happen in the story thus far. Jump to the next post to continue with the story!]
"That creature must've been quite a skilled... to be able to slip in. Well... Seein as we've been discovered... Ah think its time to clean up... Ahh man... All this hard work that will now go to waste... Lets give Sable a boost at least... Uni, I'll be counting on you." Mani places his palm onto the table and a golden light streams through veins within. The chairs shift to create three rings around the table and their legs root into the ground. Tunnels branch from the room, glyphs spiraling on their walls. An alarm goes off in his head as the circle settled into place. Another of power was approaching the city, one on the scale of the Arashin. Mani gazes up as it to look through the layer of earth which separate him from the surface and chuckles to himself. "The dog must have arrived... Oh how I wish for the chance to meet one such as you on the field of battle... But for now, Sable's recovery is of more importance." Mani closes his eyes and focuses before him. He whispers the passages he had memorized by heart, barely a paused between his words. At the end, his eyes flash open and he screams the last phrases.
"Unlock, Key of Arel-In. The night has ended and dawn's flower blossoms. The first rays cast their glow upon the sky. Resonate oh Grand Bell of Cayr. Grant your power to the pair seeking Verai. Scatter your darkness against those who hunt. And seal again by the order of Urel-An."
Mani steps back and brushes the sweat off his forehead. He looks around the room for what would be the last time and nods his head slightly. "Thank you for having us and... goodbye." He turns and disappears down a passage, cracks spreading through the stone around. The bell tolls its first note as the slaughter starts. The second accompanied the screams of the city. The third with an earthquake as energy bursts through the ground, staining it with the darkness of night.(I suppose change the name if you had something in mind for the bell?)Eix hovers ahead of Sable, teaching her the uses of the cloak. There was a sense of urgency to his voice and he had stopped even his bad attempts at making jokes. The first ability was related to their current predicament, namely its stealth. He also spoke of the basics on the ability to glide and physical enhancements, but thought flight an ability beyond her current self. Eix paused for a while and asked Sable if she had ever tried "reading" her cloak, as that would probably reveal more than he could within this time. The cloaks all had some functions, but those well versed tended to imprint their own pieces into the mesh. It was quite similar to personalized magic circles, although much easier to bring around.Sable found that she understood what the owl lectured on, although it was difficult to gather the focus required to "read" her cloak. She skimmed bits and pieces of powers she probably once possessed, but not enough to put them to use. The owl had moved on to explaining the history behind their organization when it suddenly faltered. Sable hesitated for a moment, but caught him before he fell.Eix was sweating quite heavily and mumbled, "So it has come to this... Sorry Miss, but I will be hiding in your shadow for now..." He dissolved into mist and slipped behind her, adding some barely noticeable weight to her shadow.Moments later, a golden glow rushed through the passage, leaving a tainted darkness in its wake. Oddly enough, this darkness was not much different from that of the cloak. She sat on a rooftop and watched as the "sun" rose. A ray peeked over the mountains and the villagers were starting to stir. A gust blew by as the creature charged into the village, rending a group of villagers in its path. The ray touched the "church bell" and it started to toll as it did every morning, except the ring carried a strange weight. With the next toll was a scream that pierced the air, the announcement that the beast had been spotted. The beast tore through the witness in what seemed a blood frenzy. It seemed to finally notice the distorted sound as the bell started its third ring, but too late.(Do you have a plot in mind yet? Or can I just continue tossing random things around)

(I will have to invalidate your post above, sadly, basically all of it since it relies on the arrival of Index. Feel free to reuse stuff later, just that post itself is reliant on your controlled actions for Index.)
(Yeah, gonna have to reject a hefty chunk of that last post. Mostly cause its infringing upon the Antagonist side. For simplicity's sake I am going to lay out who the antagonists are so we don't get alot of posts that get dropped back like this. Firstly, that shadow thing that appeared was entirely Silent, making it a part of the world. It is neither the protagonist or the antagonist.)
(The antagonist of this tale is The High Arahdin, the highest figure of authority in the church of Ine-om. Jointly considered as part of the antagonists is the five Arahsin, known as the hand of Din. You all have seen Index and Ring. Guess what the others are called? Since Index is one of the Antagonists, you guys can't declare anything about his actions, when he arrives and so on. This blows up any of the actions you are doing based on Index arriving.)
(The bell belongs entirely to the religion of Ine-om, in fact its got pretty big relevance to the Arahsin themselves. As a result, gonna have to ask you pull back ANYTHING to do with the big bell in terms of its use or origins. The dagger having the same pattern is an interesting point, but not a big enough one to upset the whole religion.)
(Plot is still a little up in the air. Antagonist side has pretty much decided that The High Arahdin, big bad, wants the capture of the protagonist. Why? Well eventually the antagonists will decide. Index detected the protagonist, alerted the High Arahdin, and thus falls the hammer towards the protagonist. Based on the posts made here, it seems like Sable is the reincarnation of some other Sable. One point the antagonists declared which is a big one I think will be that one child of every god exists on this planet at any given time. I am feeling this is turning towards a war between the dominant world religion of Ine-om against whatever religion the shadow guys are, that Sable is related to. If Sable ends up being someone connected to X deity, we can nicely wrap up the antagonists reasoning for going after Sable. Currently the antagonist side has two people, but most of its done by me at this point, soooo. yeah.)
(Since this plot is so open, I am thinking of opening the antagonist thread for viewing by all, that way we can all write a coherent story. While having people entirely unaware about the antagonist, I fear it may lead to more situations such as this. What do you all think? I would still limit antagonist players to only post in the antagonist thread and vice versa with the protagonist.)

Reworded to be more vague and without the assumption that Index was in the village.

She felt quite unsettled when gazing upon the bell and quickly drew her robes closer, knowing it should have been impossible for anything to harm her in this form.
