Hiya folks, I was wondering if any of you would be interested in a Fire Emblem draft run by any chance? Even though most of you guys haven't played Fire Emblem games before, I think it could be a pretty fun way to get into the series and have a good time with each other as well. Sound good? No? Well it'll be great, just give it a shot!
Here's the deal, I'll go through each of the very easy to emulate Fire Emblem games on the GBA, and I'll bring up important sounding information pertaining to each of them. A heads up beforehand is that permanent death is a thing in Fire Emblem, so be careful with your units!
First off, we have...
Fire Emblem: Binding Blade
First up, Fire Emblem 6, or Binding Blade. The continent of Elibe was once wrecked by a fierce war between man and dragon, known as the Scouring. Almost a thousand years later, a new war arises as the Kingdom of Bern unexpectedly invades the surrounding nations. When the invasion reaches Lycia, Roy, son of Marquess Pherae, fights back against Bern in his ailing father’s place.
That's the basic plot summary. Relevant details would be that the game has about... 50 or so characters that may join your army, so it would probably be the best for a draft run like I'm planning. It's one of the most strategic Fire Emblem games in my opinion, and it's the one I'm somehow the least experienced with. Regardless, I can still give out a number of tips and suggestions whilst playing to you guys.

Next up, we have...
Fire Emblem: Blazing Sword
Also simply known as "Fire Emblem" in the west, this is the 7th installment in the series and the first game to be localised. It's the prequel to the previous game, Binding Blade/FE6.
When the Marquess of Pherae goes missing, his son Eliwood leaves in search of him, along with his allies, Hector and Lyn. However things are made complicated when he discovers a conspiracy to overthrow Ostia as the head of the Lycian League. The trail for both his father and the conspirers leads him to the island of Valor, where he will meet his ultimate foe…
That would be the basic plot. This game features about 40 or so potential characters for your army, and while it does have a slow start, it has one of the best tutorials in the series, making it perfect for newcomers. If anyone wants to go for a more difficult challenge though, it's possible to run the game on Hard Mode, causing massive amounts of frustration and salty tears.
Characters in this one can be found over here at serenesforest.net/blazing-sword/characters/introduction/
Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones
Also known as Fire Emblem 8, it's a pretty great title to begin with as well. The game features fewer characters than the previous two during the main campaign (approximately 34), but you can recruit more with post-game content. Not sure how relevant that'll be, but again, how far we go is up to you guys.
Twins Princess Eirika and Prince Ephraim star in this title, as they travel the continent of Magvel to stop the intentions of the Grado Empire. Some new gameplay mechanics (many of which were borrowed from Fire Emblem: Gaiden) feature in this title, notably branching promotions, the inclusion of monsters and the ability to traverse a world map.

Now to explain how this'll work. First off, we'll vote for which game we want to play first. I personally recommend 6 if we want more units each as well as more strategic gameplay, 7 if we want a good tutorial into the series, and 8 if you just want to be thrown into things quickly whilst learning the ropes on your own. You guys can always ask me for help and tips as well.
After we decide on a game, we'll begin drafting. Basically what this means is that we take turns picking characters, and characters that are chosen cannot be selected by anybody else. We will have some free characters in order to make things possible to begin with. I'll elaborate further on that as we actually start drafting.
