Season Rules
This season will be following the general rules of DRMMO (can be found here: drmmo.proboards.com/thread/931/drmmo-play) with the following changes.
Movement
The movement system will have no major changes. However, there will be a restriction on how far you can move at a time. Walking home from school or work is not instantaneous and the movement system will now reflect that. Moving on Streets will require more time than normal to reach your destination. Moving between rooms will remain the same.
During some phases of the game, movement may be ignored entirely as it is unnecessary for the players to perform their actions. Movement will take stricter effect during later phases of the game when battles and murders become more frequent.
Phases
The game will initially begin with 2 phases. A day phase comprised of 12 hours, and a night phase comprised of 12 hours. During each phase, players will send their actions for the phase to the mastermind with an hour-by-hour breakdown. Actions can be sent all at once, or separately by hour. If any actions conflict with other players' actions, the mastermind will reply and the player can make changes.
The second phase of the game will see a shift in phases. Instead of a day and night phase, each phase will last 1 hour, and the player will be limited in their actions by the time of the phase. During this time, actions can still be sent in a large block as long as nothing interferes with other players (the mastermind may react with a logical response to another player's actions if you are unavailable and conflicts occur). After each phase change, players may continue with or add new actions.
Trial System
The trial system will see a few significant changes. Since the environment is a city, bodies may be discovered by NPCs and reported to the police. Whenever a body is discovered, it will be reported on the local news and thus be known by all players. After a body discovery, the next 24 hours will be devoted purely to investigation. Murders will become impossible during this time, and all Quests will be suspended. After the investigation period is over, a trial will be held in the courtroom of the city.
Trials will be open debate until a Suspect is declared. A Suspect must be declared by at least 3 members of the Jury (may be more or less depending on the number of players available). When a Suspect is declared, anyone may volunteer to become the Attorney or Prosecutor of the suspect. If multiple people volunteer, the lawyer will be chosen randomly among the volunteers. If nobody volunteers, the lawyer will be chosen at random. Lawyers will have a short time to present their arguments and the remaining players, the Jury, will vote on whether the suspect is innocent or guilty. If the suspect is voted innocent, open debate will continue and the innocent player can no longer be declared a suspect. If the suspect is voted guilty, they will be given a punishment. Lawyers will also be given additional tools at their disposal for the murder after being chosen (forensic analysis, autopsy results, etc).
If no player has been declared guilty for 24 hours, the trial will automatically be dismissed, and all players will return to their original location.
DISCLAIMER: Dice cannot be used as evidence for murders.
Power System
Powers in this game are concentrated solely on the collection of dice. Dice can be obtained primarily through quests. Quests will be sent at the beginning of every day, and may be sent during the middle of the day. Quests will have certain conditions for clearing and will vary depending on the character's unique situation. The same quest may be sent to different people, and there may be special or group quests depending on the situation. The number of dice received through quests may vary.
Examples of Quests:
Rescue your neighbor's cat from a tree: Reward - 3x dice
Clean your room: Reward - 1x dice
Race to the roof of the school, first person there wins: Reward - 2x dice
Pick flowers from the lakeside: Reward - 1x dice per flower picked
After you acquire your dice, you must then roll them to activate them. The number rolled on the dice will be added to your dice points. Dice points can be used for many things, but the main thing will be enhancing your stats. There are 5 primary stats you can enhance with dice. These 5 primary stats will affect your secondary stats in different ways, and secondary stats will determine certain aspects of a battle.
Stats:
Strength - How much damage your attacks do
Agility - How fast you move and your evasion rate
Dexterity - How fast you attack and how accurate you are
Endurance - How much damage you can withstand
Intelligence - To what extent you can analyze you and your opponent's stats
More stats can be added when certain stages of the game are reached, and can have a variety of effects. Each player will begin with one additional stat beyond the initial five. Stats cannot exceed human capabilities, and those that do will be locked until a certain rank is reached.
More will be added during phase 2 of the game.
Battle System
Whenever there is a conflict between Dicers, a battle will occur. Battles will be staged on a grid layout on the map. Each grid space is 1 square meter. Here players will send their actions of how they want to fight. The battle will proceed with 10 second phases, and secondary stats will come into play here.
More to come...
