An elevated wooden execution platform sits in the center of the courtyard. Blood seeping into the grains and weeds around, all taking the reddish tinge of lost life. Shoddy wooden bleachers provide a stand for spectators, a wonder with how it is still standing despite the splintering support. Yet, the more important spectators get a view from further up, on a balcony above the platform. A throne sits on the balcony, made of red cushions with black iron twisted into hearts. A red canopy blocks out the sun, the emblem of the Queen prominent on the cloth. Piled to the side of the castle is a structure of hay that was seemingly built by a lazy pig. In a corner is a small door, built into the wall. Across the courtyard is the side gate, leading out of the castle. The portcullis acts as a weight to pull the drawbridge up. The side gate is down, with the bridge drawn up. A small door near the corner, built into the wall. The guard barracks. The bridge that goes to the garden.

Everyone is shuffled to the courtyard by guards. The Queen sits upon the balcony and surveys the gathering crowd with a twisted smile.
As the last guest filters in, the White Rabbit blows a fanfare and unfurls a scroll. He bows to the Queen before starting to read, "We are here today to witness the execution of a thief. He disappeared with her tarts and dared to try and lay hands on Her Majesty's crown. He will now be summarily executed for his misdeeds."
The guard next to him yells, "Bring out the thief."
A moment later, the door to the barracks fling open and a wall of black fog rolls out to cover the court. A deep voice replies, "Looking for me?" His laugh follows with the sound of thuds spreading throughout the crowd.
The Queen watches the scene with a grimace. "A master thief indeed... and an accomplice too." She dashes back as something flies past her and retreats into the castle.
Shortly after, a blow strikes you from the darkness and you fall unconscious.
