The Mountain's Peak



As you ascend to the very tip of the mountain you see that at the very top of the mountain the ground forms into a crater with a single piece of raised ground in the center of the crater. Just inside the crater you find that a number of small hollows have been carved out of the walls of the crater making what appear to be seats. A circle of seats surrounded a piece of raised ground atop the very peak of a mountain seems very out of place, but atop the raised ground in the center is something even more out of place. Planted into the ground stock first at the highest point is an item glittering in the light, a rifle made of pure emerald and gold. There is something about it though, the air, the very wind around the rifle in the crater seems tense and has a slight golden tinge to it.

-The golden tinge in the air spins around the mountain peak and rifle threateningly-

"So why should I share the secrets of this place with you. Why do you even believe I want this puzzle to be solved!"

"Because no one wants to be alone forever...I mean why would you cover the landscape in gold if not to bring in adventurers to come maybe talk to you...and then aim to kill them when they try to leave so those within stay...and I know she-who-must-not-be-named must have meant something to you..."

-The gold dust seems to come closer together-

-The golden tinge seems to spread out farther-

"She and the person I care about are one and the same! My Name is Vindr Stein and the journal you insult belongs to me!"

"why would you spread the bread crumbs of your journal around the land if you were not interested in someone solving the mystery of this place"

"I believe you took the place of your ancestor who once stood much like you at this peak after using the same method to become what you are from drinking that vial of M.A.K.E. I found on the way up here perhaps"

"I believe that someone forced your ancestor to become the way she was by making her test her research but then abandoned her after discovering that it was irreversible and had a limited range, the wind wall, and found her of no more use to the company and that they had suffered much like you are..."

"she must have ended them causing the whole secret organization to vanish..."

"but you have grown bitter of talking her place thus you curse her name..."

-The golden tinge spreads even further into the air and begins to move closer to Silver-

"Curse her name? It is you all who defile her and deserve to suffer for all time! You have the right word, but the wrong story! I work to ease her suffering and punish those who deserve to be punished! She is too kind to seek vengeance, so I do it for her!"

"And I scattered my journal pieces? I tossed them to the winds! Does it look like its easy to handle pieces of paper when you are me?"

"ummm..when you first arrived here you found something on this mountain it was described as something you could not have prepared for not even in your worse nightmare..."

"gulp...ummm...you then secured a large supply of wooden goods using the funds Aeternus gave you...you spread it all across the area of the wind wall inside hidden facilities...you needed all that wood to use for some purpose...it suggest you needed this for ammo as I found one such facility recently empty"

-The golden tinge falls back away from Sion-

"Yes... I did discover something....It wasn't on the mountain exactly, nearby though.."

-The gold coalesces even more and you can see the outline of clenched hands, but its still spread out-

"Those *******s all...they all... If I find them I will personally see them suffer eternally. Yes... though I don't understand it, MAKE made me this way."

-the golden tinge seems to spin in place agitated-

"You share my obsession? Pray tell, what is this obsession you and I share and why should I care if you are obsessed?"

"I am still at a loss at what happened to your ancestor but you had a plan that required the wood you bought...and whatever frightened you as well must have been able to be affected by this plan although from your answer you didn't expect M.A.K.E. to do what it did to you in its entirety"

"The machine in the cabin in the river valley contained letters and a whirring machine that I believe was a component of this plan..."

"Knowing isn't the same as understanding, but it is half the battle."

-The gold tinge takes shape, you can almost imagine it sneering at you-

"I thought you shared my obsession? To know everything, so you should know by now. What is that wood for?"

"The wood could be many things, Vindr Stein you lacked the will to write it clearly in your journal but I believe since I found one of your secret facility recently emptied that you need it to create the gold you fire...you can't create something from nothing which is the first lesson of alchemy..."
