Backstory- An artist of some renown, although not always for favorable reasons. Plenty of nightmarish rumors surround her pieces. Some people swear that her sculptures are never in quite the same position. Others claim that friends had disappeared while reading her books. There are even performances where the audience as a whole can't recall what they had seen. It doesn't help that her animations always seem as if they're just about to burst out of the screen.

Her works cover most mediums across the spectrum, from traditional arts like theater and weaving to the digital and martial. She hops from one form to another on a whim, often mixing various mediums in one piece. But in the end, these forms are all still limited. Bored with the finite, she turns her attention to the tower and, more importantly, shinsu.

Backstory: Jill is a simple bartender working at VA-11 Hall-A, or more affectionately known as "Valhalla". Seemingly puts on a 'cool' facade, though she insists it's her acting naturally. Breaking this facade is a piece of cake however, as she gets angry when called Julianne due to a poor childhood experience at school. Despite this, she has a penchant for laughing at seemingly childish or immature things, much to the confusion of her clients or friends. She's somewhat anti-social, opting to remain at home browsing a few websites, drinking excessive amounts of beer thanks to her augmented liver, and talking to her cat, Fore. One day, on her way back from work everything around her begins to glitch out. Experiencing this in the past, she figured that by waiting slightly that things would get better. And they did, in a sense, as by the time she came to, she was standing within the tower. Determined to find a way home, she proceeded deeper within...

Backstory: Being from the Koon family, there were certain expectations placed upon Thalia. Naturally gifted with shinsoo, Thalia was charged with the responsibility of fighting her family's battles and doing their dirty work, eventually coming to detest her family and its constant internal division among the branches. 
Her hatred of her family grew to a boiling point where Thalia decided to break away from her family and establish her own identity, finally do whatever the hell she wants, and be free of the Koon name, though it still follows her into the Tower.

Backstory: She climbs the tower on her own, separating herself from the deeds and politics of the Yeon clan while using their name to her advantage when she can. She wields her sword and fire to make a name for herself to find out what she truly wants.

Name: Selena

Backstory: A tsundere girl who is very aware of her cursed bloodline, as that fact had been drilled into her head by her parents. Knowing that, while also being generally disliked by people has made her develop an inferiority complex and a difficult, stubborn personality. Despite that, Selena has always valued loyalty and will always stick up for the people who she can call "friends" and "family". That includes her own heritage.

Selena has been training and yearning to be strong ever since young age, hoping to one day become strong enough to challenge the tower. Since she wasn´t going to live for very long anyways, why not die in a honorable fight rather than slowly rot and slip away?

Backstory: After awakening from a "permanent" coma thanks to the efforts of a certain priest, Hol Horse has found himself hired to journey to the top of the tower. Supposedly there is some sort of secret up there that holds they key to "Achieving Heaven", whatever that means, and he's been tasked with finding it and bringing it back.

Name: Funny Valentine

Backstory:

{Spoiler}Valentine is perhaps the most enigmatic of all in the Zahard bloodline. He often disappears from society without a trace, only to reappear a short while later as if he had never left. He rarely makes contact with others from his family: he has little time to, as he's apparently the 23rd president of the United Space Association (USA for short, but is that even a real thing?) and spends the majority of his time devoted to his "job" when he isn't legally declared as missing.

Another oddity that differs him from the traditional Zahard is his innate weakness despite the elite bloodline he is part of. Indeed, Valentine is devoted to the art of Shinsu rather than physical activities - a decision which has caused some raised eyebrows at family gatherings (Well, the ones he even bothers to go to). That being said, he is a fairly competent Shinsu user, particularly with the unique "D4C" he developed, some sort of spirit that fights alongside him that allows him to fight on par with others from the clan.

But how did Valentine develop D4C? A chance encounter with something known as the "Saint's Corpse" which is said to grant immense power to those that even touch it. Just a fragment of it is enough to grant someone a power like D4C, but having the entire Corpse will bring power the world has never seen. Valentine searches for the Corpse day in and day out, but has never succeeded.

All of his searches have brought him further toward one place: the Tower. He believes he will find the Saint's Corpse he seeks so greatly at the top of it, and will become strong enough to become the face of the Zahard family and allow his "company" to thrive.

Backstory: After a fateful fight with Jotaro Kujo, DIO fled, embarrassed that he lost to just a school boy. He returned to his mansion to rest for decades, wanting to recover from his lost. This made DIO presumed dead. Even his greatest friend, Enrico Pucci, thought he was dead. This caused Pucci to hire Hol Horse to climb the tower for his dead friend.
Years came and go and DIO returned. Thanking Pucci efforts, he is determined to achieve "Heaven". No matter what.

Name: Hans Christian Andersen

Backstory: A pessimistic and gloomy poet, who happens to be 4’9” and 86 pounds. He’s one of the Tower’s most famous authors—at least for children’s books. Sadly for him, writing didn’t pay that well. Either that or his family took their share of his profits. Probably the latter. Abandoning the Koon family and spending years of his life hidden away writing fairy tales with bad endings, he soon realized that he too, would end up like his stories.
Seeing a terrible, disastrous future where he would die a virgin, he now single-mindedly climbs the Tower in search of an ending of “Happily Ever After”.

Backstory: "Long ago, in a distant land, I, Aku, the shapeshifting Master of Darkness, unleashed an unspeakable evil! But a foolish samurai warrior wielding a magic sword stepped forth to oppose me. Before the final blow was struck, I tore open a portal in time and flung him into the future, where my evil is law! Now, the fool seeks to return to the past, and undo the future that is Aku..."

Sometime after having every portal to the past destroyed, the man called Jack found a mysterious tower said to grant one wish to whoever climbs to the top. After being folded into the Arie family due to exceptional sword skills, he climbs the Tower so he may return to the past and end the evil that is Aku once and for all.

Name: Noel Luxwing

Backstory: Noel has always been ridiculed for not being dedicated to the positions of light bearer, given his family, or fisherman, given his attention to physical training.
Instead, Noel stubbornly believes in his capability as a scout.
There's no mistake, though.  Noel is absolutely dense and gregarious to a fault.
A larger target for ridicule is his intention for climbing the Tower. 
From an early age, Noel was interested in the guardians of the Tower, and recently, his interest has developed into an ambition to make contracts with as many guardians as he possibly can.  He's decided that the best way to access these opportunities is to climb the Tower.

Name: Kazan Ha

Backstory: When he was young, Kazan discovered he had a strange affinity with fire shinsu. He could burn away his life force in return for incredible power. "You'll burn briefly, but brighter than anyone," was what he was told when his abilities first came to light. Soon after, his mother got pregnant, this time with a daughter. The branch family that Kazan was from decided to bet on that sister. By experimenting on Kazan, they would discover how to stabilize the power before she learned how to use it, to guide her. Years of torturous experiments came and went. Kazan would burn himself within an inch of his life, only to do it again the next day. They succeeded. His sister had everything he could not. When she awakened her power, it didn't take away her life. No, it healed her.

The family prepared her to climb the tower, and to bring honor to their branch. Kazan was allowed to rest for the first time in years.

He was satisfied. He had served his family well, he had done his duty to ensure the strongest Ha family member in centuries would climb the tower. There was no bitterness for the years of pain, only contentment at a job well done. After all, he loved his family and his sister. But it was not to be. A week before the climb would begin, an assassin came and wiped out his entire branch. His sister was cut down before his very eyes along with his father and mother.
Enraged Kazan leapt at the assassin. Of course he was no match. He had never really trained for combat, only shinsu and his one skill. He had given everything to his sister. He was powerless. The assassin leisurely cut him down, almost mocking him. As Kazan lay on the ground, bleeding, unable to move, the assassin stood over him.
"My assignment said nothing about a boy ... Only dangerous parents and their immensely powerful daughter. Out of pity, I'll let you go."
With that, the assassin simply left, taking everything Kazan ever had with him.

Kazan lay there, in the burning wreckage of his home, his sister's last flames flickering out around him. He couldn't move, only glare where the assassin had went with wordless fury. It was then that Headon appeared before him, offering him a chance to climb the tower, and a chance at what he wanted the most. Revenge.

While climbing, he met Tu Piere Shizue and eventually started dating. This chilled him out a bit. He's heard tale of an meathead of a Prince climbing, and is most interested in meeting him.
