"Oh, it's just a novel on quantum physics. I have hundreds back home. Just brought it to read on this excrutiating bus ride."

[Hereiss Aelori]

"Convert to Taoism and you could reach Ascension! Don't delay, convert now!"

-Miko starts making a speech on all the wonders of Taoism-

Excruciating... How would you have preferred to travel?

"Anything but a bus. Railroad, caravan, or even an airship! Anyways, why are you guys shouting words back and forth? And what's up with that guy trying to convert people to Taoism? Everyone knows that science is the greatest of all religions!"

[Hereiss Aelori]

"... You look troubled child. Perhaps you need a moment to rest and calm the mind."

"I mean, science is clearly not a religion. It is a secular pursuit, something I can respect, but is in no way comparable to Taoism. Of course, I understand. The spirits tell me you have not yet found your path. Come now, let us meditate on the path to enlightenment."

"If only you could see the universe as it truly is. Then maybe you would understand that science is, in fact, a religion. A religion is an organized collection of beliefs, cultural systems, and world views that relate humanity to an order of existence. My beliefs are just...less spiritual than yours. I believe in that which can be proven. And, I simply believe we exist to exist. Nothing more. In our ever-splitting universe, we branch off from ourselves into infinite versions of our universe. Every choice. Every possibility. It all exists. But, some choose not to worship science. It is, after all, just a theory. A blind leap of faith like any of the other religions. Or is it? It seems I am so close to unlocking the secret to make quantum theory a proven law. Oh my. Sorry for that. I do so enjoy discussing physics. But, I am probably a bore to you. I will allow you to continue with your phonetic game."

"Simple. Each universe is structured differently. In one universe, those things are possible. In another version, they are not. We just so happen to be in the version where they are. So why should we treat the natural as supernatural? They are just beings like you and I."

"It matters not whether they are natural in one and not in another. Perhaps you would understand if were to truly engage in dance with one such being, but that is not the goal of our merry band is it? You guys are here to get rich quick and I am here to get rich, slightly slower true still to get rich. Besides all around us is Nature! I imagine the mine will be dark and less than bright like up here, so enjoy it while you can see it here!"

"I would imagine miners would have maps with them at all times. Might be one still down there so keep your eyes peeled and you might get lucky. After this job I plan to go check in on a couple of my friends, take a little vacation perhaps. I might even go to the Netherlands!"
